This pleasant and modern guest house is set in the centre of the town, 250 metres from Conil de la Frontera Beach. Set in a restored 18th century building, it offers Andalusian patios and free Wi-Fi.

Bright and spacious rooms at Hostal El Alojado de Velarde have individual décor, inspired by the work of writer José Velarde. Many have a balcony and all have a plasma TV, minibar, safe and private bathroom.

I was staying here with my 4 months old baby daughter for 3 nights in July 2022. We had the only room on the second floor, with direct access to the roof top patio with ocean view. It was brilliant. We basically had the whole roof top patio all for ourselves. From the bed, we were looking on plants and a seating area that belonged to the room. Behind that were several chairs and tables that are supposedly used for breakfast normally, but nobody was using them during the time of our stay. Everything was super clean and the room was very nice. It even had a fridge. It was basically two rooms, a bedroom and a lounge area with sofa and TV, that were separated by a wooden room divider. The location was very central in the old town with cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, supermarkets and the beach all in close walking distance. The only downside was that it could get rather noisy at night since there were bars right next to the hostel. However, we found a perfect solution for this: the sofa was convertible to a bed, so we slept in that part of the room - if you close the door between the two areas it is nice and quite there. The ladys at reception were very nice and helpful - thank you very much for that! I wish we could have stayed longer but the Hostal was unfortunately fully booked for the following two nights. Therefore, we had to move to another place for our last two nights which cost almost the same but was a lot less nice than Hostal El Alojado de Velarde.

If you feel like exploring, in the center of Conil you will find cafes, bars and restaurants just a short drive away. El Palmar is 15 minutes by car and Calas de Roche is 3 minutes away. If you are looking for more adventure, Cádiz is 45 km away, while Jerez and its airport are about 60 km away.

Our stay at the hostel was amazing. The staff were very accommodating, always ready to help and give advice about local beaches, etc. Highly recommended!!! Thanks so much for hosting us :)
