How wonderful it is when you go somewhere and it turns out to be way above your expectations! So it was with La Forge du Roy. It seemed from the beginning that it is a nice and neat space but, I assure you that when you come here you will be surprised! A historic building right next to Blois Castle, RIGHT NEXT. Our room was full of authentic things and so atmospheric you felt like you were traveling hundreds of years back in time!

Fantastic breakfast, strong coffee! The hosts have a lot of visitor information and history of Blois and the surrounding areas. As most euro stays there is stairs to climb, no big deal. The location is great, a five minute walk downtown. Hosts installed air condition for the recent hot spell, worked great.

The apartment is much newer, bigger, more modern than I imagined. In the middle of a cold January, the apartment was very warm and brought us comfort and enjoyment. It has everything we need: kitchen with fridge, oven, cookwares, coffee machine, washing machine with drying mode, bathroom is very comfortable, bedroom is warm and spacious.... Reda is one of the most enthusiastic hosts I have ever met. He did not hesitate to pick us up late at night, then took us to Chambord castle and to Blois station at early morning. He enthusiastically guided us through all the appliances in the house and greeted us with a rare hospitality.

Beautiful property and exceptionally warm welcome by the owner. Everything about the place was attention to detail and so beautifully done. Lovely breakfast prepared by the owner. She also make beautiful candles which she sells at a very reasonable price - really hope to return here for longer than one night.
