The location is superb, on a pedestrian street right in the middle of town. Close to shops, restaurants. A 5 minute walk from the bus station. The buses are very cheap and go all over the island. The room had a fridge, ironing board, iron, kettle, hairdryer,safe, slippers,extra bedlinen. The bathroom had a great shower. The room was cleaned daily and two bottles of water were left every day. The room had supplies of tea, coffee etc. It has everything you need. The owner has a shop next door and was on hand all the time, but we didn't need anything as everything we needed was there. There was room for hanging up clothes also. We had patio doors and a small terrace with a table and two chairs. There is a roof garden but we didn't go up there. There is heating and air conditioning in the room operated by a remote control. There is also a television, operated by remote control also. We went in mid October. Petini's Place is great value for money and we loved it. Also you are a 5 minute walk from the view for the sunset.

You can watch the famous Santorini sunset and the volcanic scenery within a 5-min walk from the property. Guests have easy access to the main square where shops, restaurants, bars and public transportation can be found.

The location is far enough to not be bothered by noisy Fira but close enough to walk to. The walk is mostly up hill on the way there so be sure you’re “up” to it. The rooms are extremely clean. The lady who cleans them did a fabulous job each day of our visit. The breakfast is very, very, basic. We had a great tour of the island by Gregory. It was so nice to see it lead by someone who knows & loves it. If you do the tour, I suggest doing it your first day. He shows you some beaches & you can make an educated decision about which one(s) to visit later. The room was cute & comfortable. Air conditioning was so, so nice & needed.
Pansion Zaharoula

We went to Pension Zaharoula last week. Everything was perfect, we had a great time. Irene and her husband are very nice, they helped us to rent a car and book the transfer to/from the airport; the room always sorted out and clean. We chose this hotel for the reviews and price although the part about being “5 minute from Fira” had me dreading all sorts of dark, dirt roads to get there from a night out. In reality it’s in Fira town-slap bang in the middle of everything. Great location. The hotel and room was very on brand for Santorini. Very clean, with all mod cons (leave your kettle and hairdryer at home!) rooms were cleaned daily (if you’re out of there by 1pm) and they provide water and tea/coffee etc. Which was a handy touch. I was a little confused on arrival as there are 2 hotels down the same driveway.. it’s the first stairs on the right. Just up the hill there’s a mini mart which stays open late (I never actually saw it closed tbh), the bus “station” area bit is 5 minutes away with busses to all parts of the island. Yannis will give you a bus timetable but we often found more busses running than advertised. You’re minutes from the hustle and bustle yet the hotel is quiet-even on the balcony! Yannis and Maria are very nice. They’re thorough and have all the info you could possible need. Highly recommend.

Location is good too- just a 5 min walk from the main square/restaurant area and amazing view of the volcano!
