The views from the hotel are unbelievable! I had many plans in Haputale, but I ended up spending most of my time enjoying the view from my bed or balcony. You can watch the sunrise over the mountains and tea fields right from bed. It is probably the best view I ever had from a hotel. I would love to come back just to take it all in. The location is also convenient to get to many different tea farms and Lipton’s Seat, if you do decide to leave your hotel room. Haputale is much less touristy than Ella, but you can still find lots to do. Other reviews mentioned no hot water, but this was not an issue for me. There is a switch outside the bathroom to turn on the water heater. After a few minutes waiting for the water to heat up, I had a nice hot 20 minute shower and never had any issues. The staff are very kind and willing to offer advice and help with booking tuk tuks, etc. Meals were simple but good and affordable. I also recommend walking down through the tea fields to the Olive Tea Center for tasty ice cream and other baked goodies. Really good and very affordable!

Everything! It was the most beautiful, elegant, welcoming place we stayed in all of Sri Lanka! The home is a true bed & breakfast. The food was amazing and host couple was absolutely lovely. We found this place by chance while looking for lodging on a stopover near Ella. It was the best surprise. We could have stayed here for days. Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life! It was a highlight of the trip. Thank you for having us!

It's walking distance to town . I love this place the bird sounds and it's so cool in the morning the mist at evening its very beautiful.

Located 10 minutes away from Haputale in the middle of the tea plantations, White Monkey is a family home that is beautiful and felt very homy to us. Rooms are quite confortable and with beautiful view when no mist. Very quiet place. We were picked up in Haputale free of charge, welcomed with a cup of tea by the parents and sons of the family. At night, dinner is delicious and shared with the other guests. It is a place of exchange, to learn about sri lankan culture, meet other travelers, or just rest facing the valleys. One of our best stays in Sri Lanka, thank you again !

Everybody was so amazing and helped us organise our trips :) The food was also really really good! Shirodh was our driver for the 2-3 days and made our experience a lot better here! He stopped everywhere we wanted to and also explained and showed us many things! All in all we loved the welcoming family and their homestay with its amazing view of the mountains and tea plantations!
