I would recommend this hotel as a little gem, if you want to live an authentic experience this is the place. Faisal and Muna were amazing, we went as guests but now are our friends. Very good location and the rooms are completely new and very clean. Breakfast and dinner are really good because Muna is a very good cooker and my favourite was Mandi. I wish to return soon again to enjoy more days with them.

Malik's knowledge and passion for the area made this visit for us. He was able to tell us so much about the nature reserve and Jordanian culture which hugely enriched our experience. The location is unbeatable with incredible views down into the valley below. It was such a privilege to be able to sit on the beautiful terrace and enjoy the changing light and listen to the gentle tinkling of the goats' bells. As we sat and chatted, we watched a kestrel perch a few feet away and Malik was able to identify lots of other birds from both their appearance and their song. A heater was provided to chase off the evening chill and the breakfasts laid on were amongst the tastiest we had in Jordan. It was also helpful to have a kettle so we could sit with a cup of something warm on the terrace. The peace and amazing views would have been sufficient to make this one of our favourite spots in Jordan, but our interactions with Malik and his wonderful family made the experience all the more special. Arrangements were made with families in the village to provide evening meals which helped spread income from tourism across the community.

The accommodation provides room service, and currency exchange for guests. We had a great stay at Mahmoud's house. The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious, with two nice armchairs. The bathroom was perfect with hot water. Our host Mahmoud was amazingly hospitable, giving us treats and desserts, with coffee and tea. We had very nice conversations with him as well. There is a separate entrance to the room which makes it very private. There is a table in the entrance way where our meals were served. Dinners and breakfasts offered by Mahmoud's family were delicious and copious. The drive to Petra is easy (6kms). All in all, we had a delightful time and were grateful for the opportunity to stay a couple of nights at Mahmoud's house. We highly recommend this place to any travelers.
