The staff were very welcoming and friendly and helped us organise stuff that we needed organising and were kind enough to let us check out late as we had an evening flight. A perfect location to explore the Lion rock-10 mins away and very easy to walk to local restaurants. We also had a big breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

We recommend staying in this cute little Hotel. It s clean, with comfy beds, a rain shower, and a nice little balcony with a view of the garden. We spotted black-faced monkeys, a mongoose, and those big squirrels. The family is so welcoming, they offer to cook dinner (it was delicious every single time) and the included breakfast is delicious too (fruit, coffee tea toasts, and two Sri Lanka specialties that change every morning). They helped us plan our trip and are truly wonderful people. We extended our stay and loved it. Will come back :)

We loved our stay at the Shan Mango Homestay and would highly recommend it! The hosts, Chulané and Sugath, are incredibly nice and we felt very welcome. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and very clean. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace or taking a dip in the pool which is surrounded by a beautiful garden full of mango trees. The breakfast was also great. Chulané and Sugath served different Sri Lankan specialties, eggs, toast and fresh fruit (including self-grown mangos of course) every morning. Our highlight was cooking together with the family. We learned how to prepare sambol and 4 different curries - and everything was delicious! We also went on a great jeep safari with Chulané’s cousin where we saw at least 20 elephants :)

The owners are the kindest family and we had the most amazing day organised by their son to one of the local elephant safari parks and temples. Good breakfast served on the terrace every morning to the sound of chirping birds and amazing views. The owner did our laundry for us and helped us dry everything, even though it was rainy season and everything was humid all the time.
