A recently renovated property, Totora Surf Hostel is situated in Huanchaco near Huancarute, El Mogote. The property has sea views and is 12 km from Chan Chan Huaca Esmeralda and 13 km from Trujillo National University. The accommodation features a shared kitchen, full-day security and luggage storage for guests. We had the most AMAZING time at Totora Surf School and it was very hard to leave after three weeks! The rooms and property were always clean and organised and the view of the ocean is spectacular. Great value for money. But what made our stay so wonderful were the people! Laura and Diego are wonderful people and the care they put into their business is obvious. They went out of their way to make my stay comfortable and were especially kind and attentive to my dog Colt who would be very happy if we stayed forever! :) Their surf school team are all great people and Colt and I were happy to leave having made a bunch of new friends!

Because I had to arrive incredibly early and also leave early in the night, the lady on duty was so kind and offered breakfast that morning when I arrived. She was so kind and helpful in every way from the minute I arrived until I departed. It was a very handy place to stay close to where the Cruz del Sur coaches were leaving from, with links there to Lima, Tumbes, Guayaquil, Chimbote, Chiclayo, etc.
