This is a back-to-basics wilderness hostel - We now have 2 private rooms, 2 mixed dorms, no showers, and no flush toilets. That said, it's a great place. A large common lodge with fireplace and lounge, friendly and personable staff, and a great location. We have purified drinking water, full cooking facilities, refrigerator, stoves and electricity.

It was a last minute decision to book for a night at this HI as our other accommodation plans fell through. Best decision ever. The mixed dormitory was extremely spacious and had curtains between beds for a tad bit of privacy. Communal area was roomy and cozy as well with enough space for people to either chill or socialise. Kitchen was well-equipped and organised. The hostel manager was also friendly and quick to help when we had an unfortunate incident with one of our boot's soles coming off. Amazing location as it's just a short drive from the Athabasca falls itself. Can't recommend this place enough!

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

The beds were good with plugs and didn’t move to much and the hostel was in a good location and one of the cheapest you’ll find in the area.
