First of all, we really appreciated how much effort the accomodating and friendly owners put in their cozy guesthouse. They made our stay homely and we felt very welcomed. We were given tea or hot chocolate in the colder evening and they served us fruit in the afternoon. Our room was clean, the bed sheets warm for the cold nights and the common area lovely decorated. Since the hostel is situated within the old town, the location couldn't have been better. We would definitely come to stay here again!

This Hostel is the best I‘ve ever been to - I even stayed two nights longer than planned, even thoughthe weather forecast had predicted only rain. The location is perfect - right on the Edge of the old town. But do NOT follow Google Maps, the Location is wrongly listed there - follow agoda or Booking It is run by a young family. The owners speak English and are happy to help you with any questions or tour or Booking you would like to do. They also help save money wherever they can and have lots of connections. The homemade dishes (Tibetan, Yunnan, Korean, Chinese, Western) are prepared with love and are very delicious. If you don’t want to go out or you want to chat with other English-speaking backpackers, or the family itself, it‘s always fun to sit around the stove, have tea or hot water and talk about different cultures, experiences, ect. as if you were part of the family Beds, rooms, bathroom, showers,… Everything is always perfectly clean

At the hostel, each room comes with a patio. Complete with a private bathroom equipped with a shower and a hairdryer, guest rooms at Floral Hotel · Shangri-la Blue Sky have a flat-screen TV and air conditioning, and certain rooms include a terrace. All rooms will provide guests with a desk and a kettle.

This hotel has definitely matched my expectations. My room was spacious, sparkling clean and comfortable. The city center is just five minutes away on foot. All the staff members were courteous and really helpful by giving me all the info I was in need of. In particular I would like to spend words of appreciation towards the lady working at the front desk. She has been extremely welcoming and nice. She even offered me a typical local dish. I felt myself at home. I definitely recommend this hotel to all travelers reading my feedback. If I have the chance to visit Shangri-la again in the future I will come back to this hotel for sure.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

This place is the best hostel we've had in China (and maybe Asia). The living room is very cosy, very suitable for taking a warm tea after a good hike, meeting other people from the hostel, or eating delicious food (chineese, corean and western dishes are available). The owner is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and cosy.

Loved my stay! The hostel is within the old town, so the location is very convenient. Shared rooms have bedside lamps and electric blankets for warmth, bathrooms were also modern. The host was incredibly friendly and answered all my questions about different tourist attractions. She even helped me book a taxi to the airport on my last day! Thank you so much for your hospitality, would highly recommend this place to anyone travelling in Shangri-La!

I really like my room, I absolutely love this style of furnishing. I also really appreciated the electric blanket. In the reception area, one can sit comfortably and meet other travellers. The location is absolutely amazing, right in the old city center. I did all my sightseeing by walking from the hostel.

The hostel is an original Tibetan house and run by a couple with the most romantic lovestory. He, Korean, was backpacking through Shangri-la. She, a local girl from one of the nearby villages, caught his eye. They fell in love, got married and are now running the hostel conveniently located in the old town of Shangri-la. The food menu is a mixed of Western, local and Korean dishes, cooked by the lady of the house. You are warmly welcomed and entertained by the couple and they will make your stay unforgettable!

The hostel itself is really pretty. It's an old Tibetan house with a nice courtyard and a balcony on the first floor. They serve excellent food all day. Try the Tibetan porridge or the yak meat burger. Honestly one of the best hostels I've stayed in in Yunnan.
