Featuring free WiFi and a sun terrace, Manuhie Backpackers Lodge offers accommodation in Bahir Dar. Free private parking is available on site.

Bike hire is available at this hostel and the area is popular for hiking. The hostel also offers car hire and can organise a free pick up from any bus station in Bahir Dar.

I came from Mumbai to Addis Ababa, then took a bus from Addis to Bahir Dar. This hostel was a gem with the value you pay. I asked them to buy the return bus ticket, pick up to the bus station in the early morning and they happily did. The best part was they helped me get an excellent tour package of the Lake Tana and the Blue Niles Waterfall, with very good price for one day, as I was tight with my schedule. The tour went very well with excellent and safe vehicles (car and boat), great guides, and all important places. The room I got has a queen size bed, shower and toilet attached, with good privacy and cleanliness. I stayed two nights and will do it again when I have a chance. Please support this property as well as the Bahir Dar. They are waiting and very happy to serve you to the best of their abilities.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

It was such a nice experience to stay in BahirDar backpackers! The hostel is really calm and clean, the facilities are good and there is a nice kitchen to cook for yourself. Besides that, Peter the manager is a truly LEGEND! Very positive and welcoming, he speak English fluently and knows a lot about activities in the city. He helped us arrange tour in lake Tana, rent bikes and even to make a birthday party to one of our friends :) I recommend this place with all my heart, enjoy!

It is situated in a convenient area and you can see the view of the lake in front or walk for two minutes to the lake. The rates of rooms are very cheap but they have a grateful facility and hospitality. Their tour offer is also reasonable. I would like to recommend this hotel full of joy.

You can't beat the price and location. Great budget option. The staff are wonderful. Nati met us at the airport and helped coordinate all our tours in Bahir Dar. He even took us out to a delicious fish meal by the lake. I highly recommend organizing tours with him and if you are tight on budget staying at this place. It has all the basics that you need. Only one room's hot water shower works, so don't count on having that. But that's a small price to pay for all the other benefits.

I had a lovely time here. Peter and Cherry looked after me really well and I had a very memorable experience. The hostel is clean, cheap, and comfortable. It's located in a quiet area close to the centre. They helped me organise tours to monasteries, the Blue Nile, as well as a trip to the Simean Mountains. Staying here is a no brainer if you're travelling to Bahir Dar. Thanks guys!
