I was supposed to stay in a shared dorm but instead I got a whole room to myself which was comfy. The bathroom was very clean. I think the bed was quite small for a single room but overall I was satisfied for a budget hotel.

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Hotel is in a great location. It’s just off the Bigg Market where the are loads of great lively bars. The hotel is literally a 5 minute walk from Newcastle Central Station. The staff are really helpful. It has bar in the main reception area for beers and drinks etc. Sadly they don’t serve draft beer for pints but a good selection of drinks still. The rooms are a little bit on the small size and it is too warm, even with the air con on.

It's a Motel One - reliable quality budget option, small but well-designed rooms, comfortable bed, good bathroom. Great location on a cobbled street right in the town centre.

Very friendly welcoming staff. We stayed in a compact double room, if you can afford it pay the extra for a bigger bed. It would be unfair to mark the hotel down given I was on a budget and I went for the cheapest room. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the County, nice hotel. If I come back to Newcastle I would definitely stay here again. Great value for a historic hotel in a central location.

We were cycle touring through Newcastle and the hotel was a perfect stay for us. Cheap and safe. We stored the bikes in the underground garage where there were many other bikes. The room was clean and more then enough for our needs. Excellent value for money.
