All rooms contain bunk beds, and there is a large, glass fronted common room for guests to relax in, along with Wi-Fi internet access. The property also has guest laundry, luggage and bike storage facilitates.

My friend and I booked the quadruple room for ourselves and it was lovely. It has been renovated and you could tell. Chargers by the bed with a light. It was super warm (it was snowy outside) and they ensured the entire building was heated well. The washer and dryer were free which was great as I expected to pay a few pound for each machine. We used the kitchen to cook and it was clean and had everything there. We relaxed in the common area on the big sofas in the evening and it was comfortable and clean. Overall the price for a private room for 2 people it was exceptional including parking. I would stay here again when visiting York.

Astor York Hostel is set in a Grade II listed Victorian building, just a 15-minute walk from the historic centre of York. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. The property can only accommodate guests over the age of 18.

The room was nice and clean, when I checked in the staff helped me get my luggage upstairs because it was heavy and there was no lift. The bus stop is right in front of the hostel.

Safestay York Micklegate has private bedrooms and bright and airy dormitories, all with personal reading lights and orthopaedic mattresses. Private rooms also have air conditioning and a personal safe.

The location was perfect a few minutes from the railway station and in a beautiful area of York, What a well-maintained ancient building with so much history about the room.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Great location, easy reach of all the city has to offer. All the hotel was very clean, comfortable and safe . Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and quiet. Pillows not great for me personally but bed was very comfortable. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here.

The property was in a great location. Everything on your doorstep. The shambles a few minutes walk away. The station a cheap taxi ride away with Taxis only a few minutes walk way. The property was clean & very cosy. Everything from home to home. I would highly recommend this apartment. The only downfall is the delivery drivers in the morning. Which we totally understand as restricted parking & close by businesses. We enjoyed our stay very much. The bed was lovely & a great sleep we had. The bath & shower was lovely too.

Obviously recently refurbished, very welcoming host & ambiance of the inn. Lovely room & facilities. Very comfortable bed & everything provided that you’d need. Substantial breakfast with an excellent choice provided. Attentive hosts who definitely went the extra mile. Safe parking was a bonus. Great location for a stroll into the heart of York. Would highly recommend. Thank you

Great location, parking close by. Easy walking distance into city centre. Rooms very comfortable with all your needs, including iron and a safe. Restaurant for breakfast and evening meals but some food available in bar area in the evening.

Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Great location, about 10 mins from the city walls. Michal makes a great breakfast! On site free parking a great bonus. Room was large (we had a family room with bunk beds- even though it was just the two of us), clean and comfortable. Could do with an update but perfectly fine. We can recommend and would happily stay again if ever in York.

Really lovely little house with homely touches. Great location. About 20/30 min walk into York or a cheap taxi ride. Very clean. Clean towels etc. Comfy beds. Very quiet street and blinds/black out curtains for a good night sleep. Kitchen has good facilities, variety of glasses, really nice touch of some welcome food and drink. Had a wonderful stay, Thank you!

Great location, nice friendly welcome. For the price in terms of other establishments in centrtral York, it was value for money. Rooms and facilities are dated but were as expected when booking. Basic but clean with kettle in room and lots of coffee and tea available. If on a budget and you understand this is a budget establishment, it's perfect. Cheap and cheerful.

Very family-like, beyond friendly staff. Alot of the customers are residential which gives it a homely like aura. Everyone looks out for eachother. As far as hostels go, this is by far the best and safest. Great value for money, perfect for cheap reliable business trips.
