Absolute value for money! I stayed a week in Chief Mau and I think it was the best hostel on my 2-month Southeast Asia trip. The hostel has great facilities - quiet and cooled-down rooms with comfy beds, curtains, robust safety lockers and a convenient place for people to put their luggage. Especially the two power outlets that can be found within each bed for safe charging of phones etc. are worth mentioning. The hostel has a really nice upstairs outdoors (but covered) hangout area with pool table and darts, pillows for sitting and a place that is suitable for working. The location is really good, with a short walk to the beach and plenty of restaurants around the corner. And the staff - they are absolutely brilliant, the true all-stars of hospitality. In Chief Mau, the staff remembers who you are, what activities you're interested/participating in, and greets you with the biggest smile. I also got so much help from them, whether it was just about asking for some recommendations, or getting a couple extra blankets when I was not feeling well. For new years eve Trisha, the young Filipina who runs the place organized a massive buffet dinner and party in just 24 hours after asking us guests what we would like to do. Thank you so much for making it a memorable night for us!

I was hesitant to book this Hostel as when I first looked it only had 2 reviews but I am very glad I stayed here. The hostel itself is exceptionally clean, the staff were unbelievably friendly and the location is perfect. It js one of the nicest hostels I have stayed in.

Great stuff and a perfect location. 5 minutes walk from any interesting point, yet located in a side street where the place itself is very quiet. Remote workers friendly, very good internet. The stuff is very friendly and helpful.

First hostel where I traveled alone and in a mixed dormitory so I was a little apprehensive but as soon as I arrived, I met a lot of nice people with whom we did lots of activities offered and/or organized by the hostel! I even extended my stay by 2 more nights, it was so cool! Anna and Max are super nice! And btw thanks again to Max for the free sardine run / turtle tour 😋

Staff couldn't do enough, beds were so cosy and private, the pillow and duvet were amazing.

They offer some group activities (I recommed the canyoneering) which are also a great opportunity to meet people and have fun with other backpackers. Bar with drinks and tasty food. Staff was very nice and helped to arrange laundry, scooter rental and bus.
