At the hostel, each room is fitted with a wardrobe. Complete with a private bathroom fitted with a bidet and free toiletries, all rooms at Casa da Fonte - Gerês have a flat-screen TV and air conditioning, and selected rooms also boast a balcony. At the accommodation the rooms have bed linen and towels.

Outstanding venue with brand-new installations that function flawlessly. The architecture exudes charm, and the manager, Carla, is exceptionally attentive. The breakfast offers an array of fresh and delightful options. Conveniently situated near authentic restaurants and beautiful natural attractions, it's perfect for exploration. My autumn stay was enchanting, and I definitely plan to return. A highlight was meeting the property owners and engaging in a delightful conversation. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone visiting the Geres region.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

By far the most warming place I booked! The price is similar to the hostels you find in cities, but here you get the beauty of the mountains.

Everyone at Selina was super helpful and friendly. The staff gives you amazing tips on how to get around, and they have great energy. A big thank you to Carolina, Fernanda, Patrícia, Pedro and the rest of the staff for making me feel at home. The area by the lake and the wellness room are great if you are looking to relax or meditate, as well as the rest of the hostel, surrounded by nature. Grateful for the experience!

The staff were very friendly sharing about what we can do in the area. Given the rainy weather when wee were there, they advised alternatives for us instead of pressing on with the hike we intended for our safety. A hearty breakfast was also provided.

Everything. Literally the best hostel I have ever experienced. The staff, the people that were staying there, the facilities, etc… I am so grateful for the experience and will visit again. Also recommend to many people.

Very functional hostel in a beautiful setting. The walls as always were thin enough to hear conversations and snoring in other rooms, but other than that I had no complaints and enjoyed my stay here.

Great location right in the centre of the town. Parking was just up the road in a big private car park.

Probably the best hostel I've stayed in. It was on my cycle route and had awesome mountain views. Safe bike storage. Although there wasn't a kitchen, a kettle, microwave, cutlery and pottery were provided in the common room. Vending machines were on site, and bottled beer. I had a twin room booked , but as it was very quiet I should have gone for the cheaper bunk room option. Breakfast was continental, but plenty of it.
