Spacepod@hive 1 stars

Lavender, Singapore

In a prime location in the Lavender district of Singapore, Spacepod@hive is located 1.2 km from Mustafa Centre, 2.3 km from Bugis Street and 2.6 km from Singapore Art Museum. Featuring a shared lounge, the 1-star hostel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen and luggage storage space for guests. The capsule is quite big (I am 170 sm+ and it was ok for me), though the blanket is quite short. There are also free sleepers, towel and charger inside. The rooms have climate control so it was very comfortable! Each person has a locker for things. The breakfast is self-service but it was surprisingly good. As for the transport - it is a bit of walk to the neareast metro which is Bendemeer, though there are many bus stops nearby, so it is quite easy to get anywhere. The hotel also organises a group transfer to airport, though we did not use it.

Hostels. What are they?

Way more than just a cheap place to sleep, hostels are a social way to travel and meet like-minded people. Common areas like shared kitchens or games rooms are great ways to swap tips, tricks and travel stories with backpackers from all over the world.

Hostels have come a long, long way since the first youth hostel opened in 1912. From budget 'crash-pads' to five-star 'poshtels', today, hostels are for everybody, so whether you'd prefer a bed in a shared dorm or your own private room, you'll find most hostels are cheaper than a local hotel and far more fun.
