Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

We arrived there for a second time after our 2-day trip to Pakukkale. We left some of our baggage there for 2 days and when we returned our staff were safe and untouched. When we got back from Pamukkale, the staff waited for us with a smile, even though it was 10 p.m. at night. Furthermore, our receptionists upgraded us to an even bigger room for our last night at izmir. Next time I'm in izmir i will definately check in Tempo residence again!

Great location opposite the main train and metro station, walking distance to many attractions. There are several 24 hour restaurants downstairs and next door so regardless of your schedule good food isn't far away. Staff are really helpful and pleasant. It's a lovely view of the city if you're on a high floor (up to 7). Very clean with gorgeous lounge downstairs.

Great location. Central to everything. No English spoken. Turkish breakfasts are odd. There are large variations in cost for a room throughout Izmir. We did not know Ramadan was coming. Izmir was dearer than Istanbul. Certain streets are blocked in the evening which makes access much easier and safer. Lots of eateries. Noisy. Heavy traffic.

Incredible location, near to lots of restaurants, bars and cafes. Not loud since it’s on a side street. Owner was very kind. The building is very old, so the room and bathroom are quite dated. Towels and linens are mismatched and used, but seemed clean. It is significantly cheaper than every other place in Izmir, so you get what you pay for. Definitely a hostel vibe rather than a hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff, great location (not too far from the waterfront and 5 mins walk from the trains/metro). Cute hotel with a lovely shared space on the second floor. We had a budget double room with external bathroom, bathroom was great, room was alright (basic but with everything you needed). Note: we didn’t get a chance to try the breakfast unfortunately.
