We were running late but the two sisters who own the house waited up for us and made us feel right at home. If you like falling asleep listening to the ocean, under a huge dream catcher this is the place for you! Breakfast is fresh, and the coffee delicious. The artisan shop is right there with lots of creative designs by the sisters. I even met their mother. Such a beautiful family stay.

The accommodation features a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, room service and free WiFi throughout the property. I was lucky that I was the only person occupying the 4-beds space most of the time, so I cannot comment on what other people said about the rooms being 'cramped'. The staff is amazing, everybody is very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms/showers were pretty small but okay overall. The AC in the rooms worked very well, the WiFi was great. The whole building including the rooftop area is very clean, nice and cozy. I definitely recommend staying here. It is pricey, but you can't get this quality at this location for less.

The hostel is located within the walled enclosure of the city, 300 meters from Bolivar Park, 120 meters from the Castillo de San Felipe. from Rafael Núñez airport 1.5 km David and his wife made me feel very comfortable at their lovely place. They moved me to an even better room with a french balcony when it became available, and they would bring me coffe/tea or a fruit platter in the mornings even tough it wasn't included. It was very clean and I felt very safe, the AC was really good and the room had a smart TV. They really went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable during the whole trip, especially when I got sick. Thank you so much! I will see you again if I come back to Cartagena.

Palace of the Inquisition is 8.7 km from the hostel and San Felipe de Barajas Castle is 8.7 km away. Right by the beach and it is a great beach with nobody hassling you. Kite house is great value for money. Cheap and it is a decent enough bed for a night or two in the dorm. Kitchen facilities and a supermarket across the street are big plus. The staff were fantastic. So friendly and helpful. Laundry service was great.

Lazing in the hammocks all day with a Coco Loco was the definition of chill. The real plus of this place was the wildlife, the monkeys, birds, iguanas and pigs that are constantly around give the place a really wild feel even if they are rescued animals. Reading previous reviews about staff being rude, we initially felt the same and undoubtedly some of the staff were a bit moody to begin with but after a day they opened up a bit and were super friendly, knowing a little Spanish and returning your cups to the bar went a long way. We also expected the worst from the food reading previous reviews but actually found it not only to be reasonably priced but really good. I think other reviewers may be long term travellers/backpackers and not used to having to pay $10 twice a day for a meal, but if you're on vacation for 2-3 weeks it felt very reasonable. Our room was great, we stayed in the treehouse and although it was very basic the whole aesthetic added to the tropical island vibe. Would 100% recommend this place.
