It's so lively, in the very heart of Neustadt: there was a countless amount of places just around the corner. This hostel didn't really feel like it was a hostel, it was more like you stayed at someone's fun hippie-like apartment. The staff is just exceptional, they're super friendly and helpful - I bothered one of them so much when I just came, and he was as friendly as he was the moment I arrived. I'll definitely come back, now with friends!

This area is also the cultural centre of Dresden, and the hostel is situated right above the popular pub, Planwirtschaft. The location was amazing, right in the heart of Neustadt Hippi Corner, surrounded by bustling restaurants, cafes, and bars. The double bedroom with a shared bathroom was super clean and quiet. The car park, at 8 euros a day, was reasonable compared to street parking. The staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended to family stays as well!

The Hostel Mondpalast offers rooms and dormitories which have been designed by different Dresden artists. Towels can be borrowed for a surcharge on request. This is an exceptional hostel that seems to have everything right. The personnel were all nice, easygoing and very friendly. The rooms had enough room and were comfortable for hanging out. The showers were clean and good. The whole hostel was impeccably clean and well maintained. First floor has a very cozy bar and kitchen area for hanging out. I was there in February and it was pretty lively, with cool people from all over the world. You can also rent bikes from them, regular single-gear and electric with 6 gears. I rented the latter one and it was good enough for a 60 km cycling trip to Saxon Switzerland National Park (you can come back by train with your bike). Kitchen was well equipped and had enough room too.
