Great location if you want to be in walking distance of everything in Bowness (steep access to the hotel so not for those with mobility issues). We had a family room in the building over the road from the hotel - Oak House with two singles pushed together and large bunk beds for the kids. Large size bathroom. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfy. Polite and professional staff.
Great breakfast, stunning grounds and decent hotel with super friendly and accommodating staff at Youth Hostel prices for this area.
Breakfast was not inclusive with our stay, but we were so impressed with the breakfast on the first morning, that we didn't look for anywhere else. Their Eggs Benedict was exceptional. The flat rate breakfast fee of £10 for non-inclusive residents, worked out cheaper than casual diners selecting breakfasts from the same menu. It was great value for money. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The village is extremely peaceful and quiet at night time, and we felt very safe walking the dog in the early hours of the morning.
Great stylish room in a great location. The rooms are designed really well and finished to a high standard. Not the cheapest option around but no complaints and would definitely come again.
possibly best hostel ever stayed at
Location excellent, staff super friendly and helpful. First time stating at a youth hostel - my children and myself happy and looking forward to returning.
Excellent location, friendly helpful staff. Food and drink good value. For a youth Hostel the facilities are good and clean considering how many people are using them. Great for kids nice atmosphere...excellent
We stayed in Bowness 1 night between Christmas & new year. The owner welcomed us in on arrival & provided advice for our stay in the hotel & in the town. The hotel is in a great location with on site parking & we had a lovely top floor room overlooking the lake. The room was a good size, warm & comfortable. The cooked breakfast was lovely & the waitress provided friendly & efficient service. Covid safe procedures were being followed throughout the hotel & bar.
Great location for the Grandchildren at the log cabin with the freedom to run free and be safe. The horses, chickens, peacocks etc added to their entertainment.
