The place is a 20 min walk to the town but you can choose to go on a path along the river which is really worth it. I just stayed 2 days but I would definitely choose it again.

The evening meal was tasty and filling and good bottled beer available. The bed was comfortable and the shower very clean and powerful. The setting of an interesting building could not be bettered. Staff friendly and atmosphere the most genuinely relaxed I've experienced. Lots of books to read and local information.

Great location and house, second to none but.... be aware that the booking company "host and stay" would not give us access to the keys until I paid 25 quid for an insurance policy I did not need. Verges on a scam so read the small print. House also had cheap and broken chairs just left in the divining room and a broken oven door that was not fixed, despite the fact the company told us not to use it; great for self catering. Great house, shocking management
Easy to access , great idea with the key safe , The property was spotless , great location as well 5 minute walk from the centre if that.
Great location and felt very safe
Great location with less than a minute walk to the seafront and numerous local amenities. Apartment was clean and spacious and well equipped. Felt very safe and secure.
Great location ,comfy beds, lovely breakfast. nice staff. Free safe parking
Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. All in all it had a very "youth hostel" feel, which is to say a variety of friendly and chatty guests with plenty of people here for the outdoors. People should note the distance to the car part and pack accordingly, also that the walk to Robin Hood's Bay is fine for people who are reasonably fit, but those who are unfirm will struggle.
Great location, nice friendly welcome. For the price in terms of other establishments in centrtral York, it was value for money. Rooms and facilities are dated but were as expected when booking. Basic but clean with kettle in room and lots of coffee and tea available. If on a budget and you understand this is a budget establishment, it's perfect. Cheap and cheerful.
Very family-like, beyond friendly staff. Alot of the customers are residential which gives it a homely like aura. Everyone looks out for eachother. As far as hostels go, this is by far the best and safest. Great value for money, perfect for cheap reliable business trips.
Friendly staff, great location I just needed a bed for the night cheap budget room for one had everything I needed
Our first stay in a hotel since the pandemic and we felt very safe and secure. Great measures in place - a very spacious hotel anyway but they were extra careful. Sanitizers were available everywhere. They could not have done any better so highly recommend staying here. Great location too and having parking available was a real bonus. Not stayed at this particular hotel before but would definitely stay again. May not be the cheapest but in these times it felt very safe and the staff were very obliging.
