The staff was helpful and kind. The kitchen had a microwave to heat up your food (no stove, unfortunately). The facilities were clean. The AC was a big plus.

Hostel Archi Rossi is in Florence’s historic centre just 250 metres from Santa Maria Novella Train Station. It is within easy walking distance of all the main tourist sites, including the Uffizi Gallery and Florence Cathedral. The bathroom and the locker were huge.

Once a 15th-century Franciscan monastery, Chiostro Delle Monache is just outside Volterra's Etruscan walls, next to the Presidio Ospedaliero Santa Maria Maddalena hospital. It offers en suite rooms, 2 free parking areas, and an original period cloister. The Italian staff spoke ENGLISH really well. Nothing was too much trouble, for example, they printed out a bus timetable for the local area and circled places on maps to see. They also had FREE parking.
