Opened in April 2013 with brand new facilities, Piece Hostel Kyoto is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station. It features a spacious and comfortable lounge, a tatami (woven-straw) terrace and a wall-size map with latest event information around Kyoto. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property, while portable WiFi devices are available for guests to use during their stay for an additional fee.

Private rooms are fitted with a flat-screen TV and a washbasin. A semi-double size bunk (120cm wide) in the dormitory rooms comes with a luggage space and a security locker. I highly recommend this accommodation! Everything was incredibly well thought out and set up and our stay could not have been any smoother or stress free. Would definitely stay here again next time in Kyoto.

The female-only property is close to several noted attractions, around 1.2 km from Kyoto International Manga Museum and around 1.3 km from Heian Shrine. Kiyomizu-dera Temple is 1.8 km from the hostel. Everything was perfect especially showers were very comfy. The staff was helpful. Thank you!

A coin-launderette is on site and luggage storage is offered at the front desk. One of the best locations in Kyoto, right next to the east district but also in a quiet street that doesn't get a lot of traffic. The breakfast is great(tons of fruits, which is a rarity in Japan) and makes this place great value. Very communal atmosphere but also plenty of privacy if you prefer it. The staff is always around to help you with anything.

Offering rooms in a traditional Japanese-style building, Guesthouse ITOYA Kyoto is a 7-minute walk from the Horikawa Imadegawa Bus Station. Imadegawa Train Station is a 17-minute walk away. Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas of the building. Best place to stay in Kyoto by far!!!! The man running this place was an absolute sweetheart!!! He was so kind and hospitable and nervous to make everything perfect for us. We stayed in the mixed female dorm and it was amazing! Super comfortable extremely clean and efficient! The bathroom and shower were awesome as well! The indoor spaces, the kitchen, the living room, the small shrine it was all incredible!! We were offered some cookies, tea, coffee, and even earbuds for free too! 10/10, I would definitely stay there again and recommend this place to everyone!!

A 15-minute walk from Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Yasaka Shrine, Guest House Gojo offers simple and cosy Japanese-style dormitory accommodation with free Wi-fi, futon beds and shared bathrooms. It is housed in a 100-year-old traditional building. This was one of the best stays I've had with Booking.com! The facilities are incredible and very beautiful, and the staff were so accommodating and welcoming! The location is also great - a lot of Kyoto's main sites are within walking distance, and if not, a subway or bus ride away. I am looking forward to staying at Gojo Guest house again at the end of the month.

Space was interesting and attractive, larger but cozy, simple but great rooms with excellent views. Toilets and bathroom are communal but the bathtub was wonderful. Food is excellent.

The property is non-smoking and is set 400 metres from Kyoto Shigaku Kaikan Conference Hall. Toru was a fantastic host and helped us book an awesome night in a local izakaya. Everything in the property was really clean, and we got to stay in a nice traditional kyoto room.
