Hotel has hot water unlike many in Central America. Beds were comfortable. WII was decent in room. There is a shared balcony on each floor with a couple plastic chairs. The employees are great. They have always been very helpful. One of the receptioist has decent English language skills. Her English has improved since my first stay. If you turn left as you exit hotel, there is a minimart just past the first cross street. Or turn right at this same cross street (after turning left as you departed hotel) and follow this street. You will arrive at Via Espana near several (maybe 10) different restaurants. Or, turn left at this same cross street, and you are only 1 short block from Via Argentina.

You can play billiards at the hostel. SUPER!! I felt very welcome and comfortable during my stay, the place is clean and enjoyable. I loved the pool table and playing with other guests. The best of Areka however, is definitely their staff, those guys are amazing, super friendly, helpful and they genuinely care for their guests. I am very happy I found this hostal and plan to stay there every time I go to Panama city. The room was comfy and spacious, with a nice view on the garden surrounding the property. The area is very peaceful, it was wonderful waking up with the song of the birds and the rustle of leaves. In the kitchen you can always find hot coffee for free, great to wake you up in the morning! Even better is being greeted by the super friendly staff and Kai, the sweetest pup you'll ever meet and the real head of the family at Hostal Amador! Positive quotes are written all around inside the hostal, leaving you with a warm feeling. Staying here felt like finding a new home and we really hope we can visit again one day!

Free private parking is available on site. staff were so friendly. they were extremely helpful and accommodated changes to bookings where possible. pool was great and met so many great people here. would definitely recommend!
