The staff was friendly and attentive and readily available for check-in. The grounds are well maintained and very clean considering the number of guests. I extended my stay several times and found each of the different suites comfortable and cozy. A great place to end each day of a Hawaiian island adventure.

I loved the people there and how clean the property was. the staff was really nice and helpful. enjoyed meeting new people at breakfast every morning. highly recommend taking part in the group trips run by the hostel, it was an amazing experience.

I was so worried that they would not be able to reopen after covid. I'm so glad they did! We have been coming to this hostel every few years for the last 20+ years. There's a cafeteria at the university across the street that serves breakfast and lunch on weekdays with very reasonable prices. Also a Subway and Starbucks at the university open weekdays only.

Accomodation on big island is really expensive 🙈 however, even it was cheap this room was spacious, clean, and all we needed to rest. It's located next to some bar, so we heard music coming out from the street, but once we closed the windows it wasn't an issue at all. The neighbourhood is not the safast one, however, on the property have had 3 locks on the way getting into the room that made us feel secure. .

The owners were extremely friendly, and the beach they suggested we go to had dolphins we were able to swim with. Our room was very clean, as were the shared spaces.
