A small town with a pleasant atmosphere. Beautiful nature in the surroundings, a beautiful view of the mountains, a great starting point for trips. This is a great town. I went for the Jazz Festival.
This is a great town. I went for the Jazz Festival. The folks at the Tourism office should be commended for a fantastic job putting it on, and for the help they provided by email and in person. I plan to return to Saalfelden not only for more music and hiking next summer, but to cross country ski around Ritzensee and into the valleys. There are also biking routes that I'm interested in. The town is well served by trains, including Railjet Express, and has a bus system. Accommodations closer to the Bahnhof would be great, though.

Perfect place for skiing in Leogang-Saalbach-Hinterglemm skiresort (10 min's away from Leogang). Super clean and beautiful view to the mountains! Still a bit pricy even we booked late and in the main winter-season (260€ per day).
