Grampians Pioneer Cottages are a real gem near Halls Gap @ the heart of the Grampians. We stayed here for the second time - this time with our family. We loved the cosy and beautifully furnished cottage, equipped with all you need to make your stay comfortable and nestled in superb, wild nature. We admired the visit of many kangaroos, emus, birds … who were literally at our doorstep, enjoyed the fabulous fireplace in the evening. What an unforgettable experience. We hope we can come back again soon. We can highly recommend this place. You will not regret it.

Love nature so enjoyed visiting MacKenzie Falls which has paths to viewing points for people of all abilities; even has a “resident” emu! Plenty of places for hiking. Halls Gap Zoo is a fabulous place to visit with so many birds and animals to see and interact with. Good choice of places to eat - we particularly thought The Kookaburra Hotel and the Halls Gap Hotel Bistro were particularly good with great food, great service, great atmosphere and great staff. Avoid Halls Gap Tavern at all costs! Plenty of accommodation options in most price ranges (best to avoid Kookaburra Lodge Motel if you want value for money and want even the bare minimum of housekeeping!) Basic shopping centre … but they DO have great ice cream and tasty fish and chips available there and a big playground for families with younger children. Beware the kangaroos as you drive around, they are everywhere at any given time of the day. Beautiful place to relax and enjoy.

Absolutely stunning, it had been years since i was there last and once again the friendliness of all the staff at the shops and attractions around could not be faulted. Let alone the food options in and around Halls Gap - Barneys Barn - Pomonel Estate , Indian , boutique beers and ciders, there are so many , you will never go hungry. The local Zoo is a highlight- go the extra mile and book a animal experience - Red Pandas are adorable. Halls Gap is a gem of Victoria and is well worth the visit. There is something there for everyone, you can be as active or as relaxed as you prefer.

The Grampians National Park is excellent for walking and hiking at any time of the year. Halls Gap has a variety of accommodation types from camping to higher end. There are various places to eat, from usual so-so pub food to good quality food including vegan. We are at the Kookaburra which had excellent food (including vegetarian) served with delicious vegetables rather than chips and The Spirit of Punjabi which always serves excellent food (by robot now!). It also has a range of delicious vegan dishes. If you are into art and creativity check out Grampians Textures and Grampians Brushes - both are packed full of excellent workshops.

There are enough shops and bars for a short stay, and the location is excellent for exploring the trails in the area. The tourist information centre was helpful but wasn't quite up to speed with some trail closures which appear.tto have been made some time ago. Overall Halls Gap is a great place to stay for an adventure break.

    I love the Grampians.

I love the Grampians. Lots of lovely walks and scenery and Halls Gap has great restaurants. Unfortunately the cultural centre is closed and sone of the galleries in the areas were not open . But the wineries are worth a visit and certainly the Hall’s Gap pub. Excellent chef with great food and views .

Halls Gap Zoo was excellent - casual and all the keepers were very friendly, informative and helpful. The many local sights were amazing. Beware! Most businesses close early - not easy to find food after 6 pm! The boutique shopping area, although small, was excellent.

Our host was generous with an upgrade too. this place is a winner. easy keyless entry...so close to halls gap and spectacular walks. we loved hiking knowing we were coming back in the afternoon to our spectacular lodge. we ended up cooking and staying in because the room was so nice!!

Gorgeous nature at your doorstep! Tranquil and quiet, the grounds were beautiful and relaxing, villa was lovely and relaxing with fantastic views! Absolutely lovely touch with the complimentary bottle of bubbly already chilled! Fresh bread and continetal breakfast assortment.. fireplace was warm, cosy and romantic. Looking forward to our next stay perhaps checking out another villa! Also, the sound of trickling water from the indoor stream was just amazing. Our favourite place to stay at halls gap.

The location was perfect a nice 20 minutes stroll into Halls Gap. The log cabin was so comfortable clean and bed super comfy. It had a well equipped kitchen, and an added bonus of heating in the spa bathroom.Adequate supplies of towels and bathroom accessories also supplied. The surrounds of the cabins are kept immaculate. We didn’t need to light the wooden fire, but wood, fire lighters all supplied if needed. There is of course reverse cycle heating and coolant.

Very friendly and accommodating hosts. Clean and tidy and well-presented unit. Cooking facilities included microwave, toaster, kettle etc. Bed comfy. Shower pressure pretty good. Facilities on site included an indoor heated pool, gym and pool table as well as some bike hire (although we didn't use them). Location is a short walk to the Halls Gap Hotel, but a longer walk to the main shopping/tourist area.

The chalet was very comfortable, clean, roomy with spa bath, walking distance to a great Indian restaurant & shops. The chalet has everything we needed. Privacy around the chalet was excellent. The carport was nice & big. Our chalet was no. 3. The owner Peter was a gentleman, although he's retiring to NSW :( (but of course we wish you all the best Peter). The patio around the chalet was also nice.

The rooms were customised to suit our family so that we could make the most of the 2 rooms. Everything provided was in good condition and the rooms were very clean. The communication from the managers was excellent and they went out of their way to make sure we had a good stay. I would highly recommend Gariwerd when visiting Halls Gap.

Location perfect, house was set in a quiet tree studded street, very picturesque. Close to the town but felt like we were secluded. The spa bath was a welcome extra after long days hiking. Hosts rang to let us know the drive was damaged by the rains but we could still use it. Allowed us early check in. We'll be back.

If you are looking for a luxury stay in the Grampians (Halls Gap) this is the place to stay. The location is perfect, both close to town but very secluded. Being fully equipped with kitchen and laundry facilities, you have the option of just staying put and looking after yourself for a few very relaxing days.

It’s a budget hotel, if you want luxury don’t stay here, rooms were very clean, outside yard needs lots of work. Staff very friendly and helpful. Meal in Tavern downstairs was fine, nothing flash. Looks like they are gradually fixing up. It’s got lot of potential.
