Abode Malua Bay, hotel in Durras

Abode Malua Bay is located on the beachfront in Malua Bay, 12 km from Batemans Bay Marina. With a restaurant, the 4-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom.

We absolutely loved the position of the bed in the room. We were able to open the balcony doors and look straight out to the beach and watch the waves crashing in as we laid back. We kept the balcony doors wide open all night and listened to the waves. So peaceful. Breakfast was not an option but that's ok as there were plenty of places in town to go but if you had the basics in your room there was a great equipped kitchenette.

Mouldy bathroom, unable to lock my cabin door from the inside. Unable to close the main bedroom door, ,,,, absolutely disgusting maintenance. I loved this place. First time visiting the cabins and have photos of the bad maintenance and embarrassed to have brought my family.

Durras is awesome - still a proper little old school coastal town. There is plenty to do - beaches obviously but also bike riding, bushwalking, there is a skate park and basketball court plus sporting field and playground. It's close to Batemans Bay (shopping, more beaches, water park, fishing) and Mogo (has a zoo and a cool Main Street with little boutique shops, ice cream place and cafes). Durras is great for a little coastal getaway where you can be as busy or as chill as you like.

The location was great between the ocean and the lake.

The location was great between the ocean and the lake. The facilities were good and it was very peaceful to stay in the cabin. The windy weather meant that we couldn't spend much time on the beach but we did several walks along the foreshores of the beach and the lake which were enjoyable. On the downside was the lack of WiFi and a swimming pool would have meant we could have got more swimming in.

Despite a series of puzzling emails prior to arrival, registration was seamless. Location was right on South Durras beach for some cabins, but the others were in a pleasant forest setting. The resort is very convenient to the Murramurrang National Park, which has superb beaches, headlands and geology. It is also handy to Bateman's Bay, but offers a very good combination of Restaurant, takeaway outlet and poolside bar, so no extra effort is required for meals. An excellent place for all except teenage children

There was a mix up with our booking but the staff tried hard to resolve it. The cabin was nice and clean with lots of kitchen items and a big fridge. The location is lovely. We were only passing through but the beach looked beautiful. The pool looked really nice too but it was not warm enough to swim. The bar area looked good too but we didn't end up going there. The kids loved the kangaroos/wallabies and we saw a possum with its baby on its back too.

The beaches and the location were idyllic - just amazing, the kangaroos the most friendly I have seen and even though it was mild weather, the water temperature and calmness was just amazing. One of the staff members we interacted with was fabulous. Two out of the three meals at bistro were also absolutely fabulous and on par with great food anywhere (yummy breakfasts, great burgers) - the third was underdone but was quickly addressed when raised.

A great place to take the family with young children for holidays. The villas on the beach have a beautiful outlook. The resort has lots of daily activities for kids during the school holidays. Staff are friendly and helpful. Checking in and out was seamless. The grand kids loved their stay and didn’t want to leave. We will be back again.
