The supplies and provisions were top-notch.
Eco-friendly, and naturally scented products throughout the property.
Wine, chocolates, fresh bread, orange juice, plant milk (by request), coffee maker (we only needed to get some local jam/honey and butter for the bread).
Soaker bath and bath salts were a hit, I fell asleep in the bath I was so relaxed.

It was clean well organised and the staff were lovely the tent was stunning so luxurious and comfortable
A pleasant country town with a lot of history. Nice tree lined streets and old historic buildings. The road traffic through the town centre is a bit chaotic and too fast making it a bit tricky to cross at times. Some Nice coffee shops in town and the visitor information centre is worth a visit.

Castlemaine is a picturesque town, some good attractions from what I saw in the almost two days I was there. Would go back to the Five Flags Hotel again where I had dinner. The old prison is amazing, never seen anything like it.

Castlemaine is an interesting city with lots of accommodation and dining options. It is designed around tourism and there are lots of interesting shops and attractions. The surrounding areas are interesting too. We could have spend more time there. The town centre is easily walked.

with our accommation at Goldenray, there was no sitting room, no lounges or padded chairs, no wardrobes that were open, there was no proper kitchen, we could only walk from bedroom to bedroom and up the hallway when inside, we were aware that the owner was sharing the other part of the house, not quite what we expected.

A guided tour is offered at the Information center.
A guided tour is offered at the Information center. I would recommend this tour because we received a lot of information that gave us some great insight to Castlemaine and its history. Our guide also had some amusing tales to tell. The bush walks are also a definite plus for people who enjoy walking, with old gold mining sights as well. Also a lot of local arts and crafts on show as well. And a not to miss a visit to the Kaffee Haus. Wonderful coffee, food and what I would call really good services when the restaurant was buzzing with locals and visitors.
The Cottage was tucked away behind the main house and we were greeted by a family of carolling magpies and the clucking of a couple of hens in nearby the chook pen. The Cottage was screened by native bushland which could be viewed from every window. The place was nicely appointed and had everything we required (no dishwasher, but we didn't need that). We did not get to meet our host, Shirley, but we were able to communicate by SMS, if required. Information on the local eateries was listed on an Excel spreadsheet - very handy!
So spacious, very clean and gorgeous, there was plenty of room for four of us, on a winter break. Nicely presented, with lots of interesting books! We enjoyed the massive TV and cosy couches. There is a full kitchen with all sorts of useful containers and utensils, as well as a few pantry staples.
Easy walk to supermarket, shops, and basically all of central Castlemaine.
Hosts were super-prompt in responding to feedback, and they fixed some small issues straight away.
Our host was lovey and greeted us when we arrived. The accommodation was very nice and modern with lovely views from the verandah. Took advantage of the relaxing big bath. The bed was very comfortable. We had lovely pastries on arrival. And it was about a 10 min walk to town, if you didn't want to drive. Castlemaine was a really cute town with some lovely old buildings.
Great little boutique motel with everything you need for a few nights stay . Complimentary sourdough bread and condiments left for us for breakfast as well as ample supply of tea and coffee . Really friendly staff who went out of their way to accomodate one of our travellers with a disability . We will definitely be back when staying in Castlemaine again.
Very very clean and can access the motel 24/7. It's on the main road coming into Castlemaine but inside the motel was extremely quiet. Updated bathroom. Good proximity to Castlemaine with free WiFi and television (not smart )Well stocked with towels, shampoo conditioner, hairdryer Tea, coffee ,kettle, toaster , microwave, iron etc.Really great value.
Our favourite part of the property was the deck with the lovely view across Castlemaine to the hills beyond. The bathroom was beautiful and the whole apartment was really well presented with lots of thoughtful details. Bev was the perfect hostess- providing privacy but being available if we needed anything.
Lodge was close to station and town , easy walking to sites around Castlemaine. Our host was very friendly, made us very welcome. Knowledgeable of the area , sites to see, places to eat. Some rooms on 1st floor which some people may find difficult however we had no issue.
rooms great showers, awesome location right next to a park and plenty of great places to walk to, near the bridge hotel pub with great food and a awesome country vibe, great for groups and family’s to stay at the big 4 castlemaine gardens
The Castle Motel was close to the centre of town, the room was very warm (we were here on a cold night in May), the bed was comfortable & the staff were friendly. Everything you could want for a short stay.
Absolutely spotless, immaculate presentation and cleanliness.
great amount of space and really close to all the things we wanted to see in Castlemaine.
Really easy to find and access.
Excellent place to stay when visiting Castlemaine. A quiet street, with a quaint garden outlook, 4 minutes by car away from town centre, fresh, clean an cosy.
As I was touristing to Castlemaine to do a parkrun, the property is close to the town centre and station, plus the school which is just across the road.
