Belinda Angus
Windmill Cottage is 40 acres of Australian Native plants. These trees and shrubs attract a host of different bird life all year round, yours to exclusively enjoy while at the cottage. Take in the panoramic views of the Blyth plains looking to Yorke Peninsula in the west, with rolling hills & vineyards to the east.. The Cottage is furnished to make you instantly feel relaxed, before you set out to explore our man made forest and the region's many attractions. While the Clare Valley is most famous for reisling wines, I think it is as much the smooth barked & sculptural SA Blue Gums lining the back roads, that give the Valley a special charm.
Hi, my name is Belinda Angus and together with my husband Matthew we manage Windmill Cottage. My father Ian Roberts set up the Cottage and over the years has planted tens of thousands of Australian plants of around 2000 species. Ian also paints Australian birds and flowers and has a studio/Gallery in Blyth, with some of his works in the Cottage. He has an extensive range of his works at Medika Gallery and online. He also grows several thousand native plants for sale and as replacements at the Cottage, many rare in the wild or in cultivation. It is a pleasure to be able to share this amazing property with guests and we look forward to having you join us at some time.
The Cottage is in the Armagh district of the Clare Valley, home to many of the Jim Barry winery vineyards, & Clare possibly has more cafes & restaurants per head of population than any other place in SA. Indulge!! We're a bit biased, but you can spend a few hours in Blyth visiting Dingo Dreaming, an aboriginal interpretive gallery, an art installation at Padnaindi Reserve (16 laser cut panels telling the history of farming in Blyth), 3 playgrounds, the Lomandra Walk Trail, Old & New Wares, Blyth Cinema (a city quality facility screening around 7 times a week), & of course Medika Gallery (professional, art craft & indoor & native plants)
