If you are a first time traveler to Qingdao, bear in mind that Qingdao has spent the last decade upgrading its transportation system, and in doing so, make it a lot easier to get around the city. For example, if you fly into their new airport, Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport, once you gather your bags, you have a choice of using the city's rail service (Line 8) to get you to downtown Qingdao. It connects with Line 3 (Licun Park), and Line 3 connects with other lines, so rather than pay crazy money to get to downtown, you could pay as little as $1 just to travel to anywhere in Qingdao. The signs are in English, and they have staff on hand who speak some English as well. Great airport!

A wonderful city where people seem friendlier and less in a rush. We loved the European style in the German quarter and the view form the Signal Hill park. I would recommend having a little coffee there in the cafe up top. Very interesting to see second beach and then enjoy the cable car over the city from Zhongshan Park.

Some of the museums temporarily don't work, others finish accepting visitors too early each afternoon (around 4pm), so double check the working hours before planning your visit there. The city architecture is amazing, you can just walk round the city without any plan and enjoy fascinating views. The beaches are great and clean but have nowhere to hide from the sun.

Always love Qingdao, this was my fourth visit, though the first in over 12 years. It's great for a beach holiday in northern China (though don't expect beaches like you'd get in Mauritius!), and has the added attraction of the German architecture in the old town and plenty of good restaurants. It's easy to get to from Beijing on a 3-hour fast train and easy to get around on the subway or by Didi. I'd recommend going in September as the weather is still hot but there are far fewer tourists.

Qingdao was a welcome getaway.
Qingdao was a welcome getaway. We live in Shanghai and were looking to escape the hot and humid summers. The climate in Qingdao was amazing. We walked most of the way and in between, we enjoyed good local BBQ and cheap draft beer. Dont forget to visit the old german governors mansion and walk along the boulevard, and especially not the qingdao beer museum!

Often overlooked by tourists, Qingdao is a great "China for beginners". This city is well-ordered, easy to navigate, and safe. A nice balance of fairly recent history with modern services and a unique natural environment between mountain and beaches.
This hotel is a Chinese local one. Therefore, breakfast is generally local breakfast composed of noodles, fried vegetables and eggs. As a foreigner, that was all right with me. the location is very close to the conference and exhibition hall. Even though the reception staff didn't know English, we managed to communicate with mutual efforts. room is fine. over all it was a nice stay.
It's a beautiful historic building with friendly staff. The location is nice, close to Beach No. 2 and the Badaguan scenic area. The room's furniture was nice and practical, with a good wardrobe to truly unpack and store clothing. The terrace on the third floor, overlooking the bay, is a heavenly place for breakfast.
The room was very clean and high-tech. The sheets were nice and clean, and the hotel was quite impressive; the staff were friendly and willing to help out once we had arrived, yet it was very difficult to access and contact from the airport. Shuttle to the airport on departure was easily facilitated and on time
The hostel is perfectly situated in the centre of Qingdao and the staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke English.
The western-style breakfast was tasty and filling.
The hostel's café/bar "Jinns" is very nice and they have great food and drinks. It is a great place to relax at the end of the day.
This good hotel accepts foreigners, for a fair price, which is becoming very rare in China... staff is nice, location is excellent, 10 minutes by walking to the train station and the sea, only 5 minutes to the German church, and plenty of good and cheap restaurants nearby...
The reception lady staff (I forgot her name) , so so friendly with such excellent service .....even the male staff in the morning during check out had good service
Such excellent service makes one feel so relaxed and will be one of my considerations to stay if in Qingdao
Hotel is big and well maintained, hot water shower was working well and provided good amenities in the bathroom.
Nice RT Mart beside hotel that sells clothes and supermarket items. Good number of eateries beside hotel as well. Gym was decent enough to get a workout
The room was very comfortable and had everything I needed. The breakfast deal was great value for money as it also offered refreshments and a light dinner in the evening. Hotel was very conveniently located next to a large shopping centre and train station.
Excellent location and a great place to stay and experience some of the "must-see" attractions in Qingdao, if you are on a budget. Literally next to St. Michael;s Cathedral and a short walk to Zhanqiao Pier. Great street food and night scenes in the area.
The hotel is very beautiful. The environment is very warm and welcoming.
Spacious, clean and comfortable rooms
Really excellent breakfast at Cafe Yum, with both Asian and Western choices. All fresh and delicious
Nice and helpful staff
Room is clean and comfortable.
Breakfast is good and valued for money.
Hotel location is good for business travelers as many restaurants and a supermarket is around the corner.
Front desk staff is polite and helpful.
1. The restaurant staff was really friendly and caring. Food was delicious.
2. The architecture is beautiful.
3. It may be a good hostel, but if you are looking for a basic hotel, you should choose the other hotels.
Friendly and helpful staff, excellent location and one of the most comfortable hotels in Qingdao. They use duck down for the duvets and their beds are super comfy. The breakfast included is also fantastic.
The hotel is very good. The staff is attentive and friendly. The service manager whose name was Sophy was very kind and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay.
