This is a great place to see a 400 year old city and very pleasant, small and walkable old town. The quietness but attractiveness of Celle is really great. The castle is the home of the English royal family so the historical importance of Celle is multi-national. Spend at least 2 days here.

Celle is my hometown, it was my first visit in 11 years.
Celle is my hometown, it was my first visit in 11 years. I was disappointed that parking was very poor, specially for handicapped people like myself! Evidently foreign handicap placards are not recognized or accepted by parking officials. I received 2 tickets for parking in a handicap spot, in spite of displaying my handicap placard! Traffic is a nightmare. Sadly, I don't think I'll return again.

Celle was as a hidden pearl to us.
Celle was as a hidden pearl to us.
We chose to stay there because it is near Belgium. 500 km to go to end our road trip through the North of Germany.
It is a renaissance city with lovely houses, nice church, and a nice castle.
Not too big with shopping facilities.
We made a walk around the city and visited the castle and the park.
At the end of july there was a wine-market.

It is a picture village and just beautiful buildings.
It is a picture village and just beautiful buildings. Plenty of cafes and shops to visit. The Castle is a highlight of the village along with the Museum which is not open on Mondays. There is a market Wednesday and Saturday in the "mall". Very colourful and interesting. A bit of a time warp in a lovely way.
Cheap but very clean, cozy Hotel within walk distance following a romantic road with alley of old trees and big single family houses to central of Celle.
Beds as German standard (a little hard) but 2 pillows each (1 soft and 1 more stuffed). Big rooms with big bathrooms. No minibar, but bar at the reception and tables inside and outside.
Breakfast had the same elements as expensive hotels.
Everything!
1. Location is very quiet and near to nature
2. The best ratio price-value in the whole northern Germany
3. Appartment is huge, has everything one can possibly need including fantastic outside dining area with a garden view
4. Small gifts in the fridge -vine and water

6. Extremely nice owner
7. Extremely clean
This is one of the best hotels in Celle. I am a regular visitor there and this is my first choice. I even brought my wife and kids to stay here as I like it so much.
Pool in the basement, beautiful restaurant, and cracking breakfast. Just top notch in every aspect, without being over priced or too snooty about it. Highly recommended.
Small hotel in the nice city of Celle, at walking distance from the train station. Hotel and restaurant are run by Ms. Karin Fass and her daughter, both very kind, helpful and supportive. Room was simple but clean and equipped, breakfast was well worth the price and I loved the dinner.
The apartment was spacious, very clean & had everything for a very comfortable stay. Location was excellent right in the historical center. The host Joachim was friendly & extremely helpful. Parking was close by, arranged by Joachim so very easy.
Hotel is just a short walk to the Altstadt and Schloss. The room that we had was spacious and was more than enough for the two us. Plenty hangers in the closet was very much appreciated. Clean room and friendly staff.
