ThälerHäusle, hotel in Furtwangen

Featuring a spa with pool, free Wi-Fi and a traditional restaurant, this country hotel is an 8-minute drive from Furtwangen. All rooms have a balcony/terrace with Black Forest views.

The location was rural situated on the edge of forest. Very quiet and peaceful. The room was excellent with a balcony overlooking pastureland and hillside. Breakfast was outstanding with lots of choice on a buffet style, but you could also have a hot breakfast as well, made fresh at no extra charge. The restaurant in the evening had a good selection on the menu with dishes of the day. The food was delicious and generous in portions. All the staff were friendly and gave advice on where to go in the area. There were walks close to the hotel through forest and meadows.

Am oberen Bühl, hotel in Furtwangen

Offering a garden and quiet street view, Am oberen Bühl is situated in Furtwangen, 44 km from Freiburg (Breisgau) Central Station and 45 km from Freiburg’s Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Everything was perfect. The place is fully stocked with everything you need (towels hair dryer, all kitchen appliances etc), very nicely decorated and it's a private and quiet place. Also very, very clean. Supermarket is close by and you can start hiking directly from the house. If I would come back to this region I would definitely stay here again. 10/10 would recommend!

Fantastic location in the middle of the Black Forest! This family owned hotel is very cozy and comfortable. Enjoyed relaxing on the balcony and sitting in the sun on the terrace with a drink from the bar. The breakfast is outstanding and all you need to power through the kilometers of hiking trails surrounding the location. We took dinner in the restaurant and were very satisfied with the selection as well as the quality. We definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and hope to return soon.

The breakfast was average for European breakfasts. Exactly what a European traveller would expect. Nothing particularly special. The overall aesthetic of the hotel, restaurant area and outdoors was very nice. There was a nice guest lounge area with a long table and a sitting area with a tv. The location is close to a few places worth visiting ie: triberg. There was nothing wrong with the bathroom. It had everything you needed.

The best thing about this hotel is the mesmerizing panoramic view of mountains from balcony. The owner Antonia and her team were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was world-class not only in quality of food and service but comfort! I especially appreciated their acceptance of the American Express and the fact they were recognized as the best hotel Inn in the Black Forest was so surprise. Planning my trip to come again.

We were very much delighted with the breakfast simply because of the hotel's croissant. These croissants were delicious. We will hold this as the highest standard to benchmark when eating croissants again. The host and staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, clean and bright with nature view of roaming cows in the pasture.

At the end of a long road on a forest ridge above Furtwangen, between the source of the Danube (how cool is that?) and an ancient chapel. Typical of the best of German Gasthouses. Spotless, well equipped room with balcony and the best filled mini-bar ever. Very friendly staff and a nice though very busy restaurant. Good breakfast.

The hotel is in an excellent location sat alongside the B500 if you want to tour the Black Forest, we only stayed for the one night passing through, the rooms were clean and bright, the decor throughout the hotel is quite funky too, the restaurant was good and breakfast in the morning was ample too.

Great location, friendly staff and nice room. And did I mention, great location. The kind you wanna keep for yourself, but if you like peace and quite. The hotel is at 1150m on the top overlooking the valley on 2 sides and bordering on the forest on the other sides.

The room was very spacious. The hotel is delightfully old and it feels nice having an actual key to a hotel room. The breakfast was simple yet perfectly European in style: smoked salmon, meats, cheeses, bread, fruits, juices, cereals, vegetables.
