The room was clean and quiet at night. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The owners were pleasant and friendly.
There was a good bus service into the centre of the city but on foot it was a good 20-25 minute walk to the centre so l’Aiglon is not exactly centrally situated.
However, it is a one star hotel and therefore simple and basic and that needs to be borne in mind in relation to this review.

There is lots of interesting places to visit and many good restaurants. Pity one can only really eat one dinner per evening! It's a compact city with all sites that one may wish to visit in easy walking distance for the able and lots of public transport for those who are not. Also, they have a free bus that one waves down to take you on a trip around the city though we didn't use it.

Good restaurants and as a meat eater would recommend El boeuf a la mode. Worthwhile to visit early in the day the fresh produce market in the city center. Although not in the city center a visit to Bernardaud to see Limoge porcelain is worth it, despite the fact that, the prices are exorbitant. The countryside around the city is worth exploring with a number of small towns including close.

Being an experienced traveller around various parts of the world,I can recommend Limoges as one of my favourites. The people are very helpful, most spoke some English. Getting around is easy due to a very efficient public transport system. Many and varied eating options, bars, without getting ripped off!
Only downside to Limoges is,there is no public transport into the city,so a taxi each way (28-30 euros)
3/4 days is adequate to see the all of the major sites (the porcelain museum is a must)

Three days is about right to leisurely enjoy Limoges, which is very accessible as a pedestrian to the central area. My only comment if planning a stay would be to note that the majority of museums are closed both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Nice city with interesting history. we stayed a couple of days on route to our holiday destination and stayed in the North of the city good for restaurants, bars and shops. City is too big to "do" in 24 hours.
The hotel is very well situated, across from the main railway station and an easy walk into the city. We only had one night there and it was very quiet. The room was clean and the bed comfortable although the room was quite small and there were no tea/coffee making facilities. However there is a machine for that in the reception area for a small fee. The staff were great, very helpful. Breakfast was good. It was extremely good value. Parking underneath the building (there is a charge for that) is very handy.
It's an old style hotel in the middle of the town. I loved that the owners kept old furnishings and wall decorations that give the place a character. Everything is clean, even if most places, notably bathrooms, need refurbishment. My bed was very comfortable, the mattress was pleasantly firm and the temperature in the room was just right. Breakfast (continental) was fresh and in the right amount. The internet was fast and stable. The receptionists are very helpful, kind, and courteous.
I booked this hotel because I wanted a reasonably priced option near the centre and railway station. This was a good choice - there is a spacious, relaxing lobby with a bar and lots of seating - also table football and board games. The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfasts were excellent - plenty of choice, including hot options and very good cheese. There is a walled courtyard and shady seating outside.
Excellent selection for breakfast noting the priced paid. Great value for money and super yummy pastries. Overall, exceptional friendly service, very professional with appropriate friendliness. Seriously great value for money for the room noting the convenient location to the train station, city centre and awesome food. Had a restful peaceful sleep and comfortable bed, and very practicable bathroom/shower.
The staff was lovely, friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean. Not too far from train station. Nice neighborhood with an organic grocery store nearby. It is also around the corner from one of the funkiest bars we've ever encountered Bar Le Limousin. Breakfast was lovely with a large selection of goodies. Overall It was comfortable enough to allow us to enjoy Limoges.
The most beautiful and charming boutique apartment hotel we have stayed in for a long time . Rooms were spacious and well equipped and the dining room , lounge , hall etc were beautifully decorated . And only a short easy stroll down to the charming centre of Limoges. This was like staying in a ‘friends’ grand Maison ! The owner was so friendly and helpful - Superb.
The bed was huge and very comfortable, the AC worked which was great for a warm night. Breakfast was continental but had lots of options. There is a grassy area with picnic tables next to the hotel which was perfect for our dog to run around after a long day in the car.
Very welcoming, good clean rooms, very helpful reception, a lot of wide parking spaces, fantastic restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The maitre de was brilliant. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel as a pit stop to break up the journey through France.
Nice clean and comfortable hotel. It's about a 15 minute walk to the centre. The night receptionist is charming and helpful and speaks good English. It's the fourth time we have stayed they en route to ir from the south and would recommend it.
Best location in town close to everything and good view from the room
Excellent breakfast and friendly staff throughout our stay
Hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train station
Room was exceptionally clean and spacious
Despite staff shortage, the staff that was there were very friendly and did a great job. They managed to run the hotel as well as they could, despite lack of needed staff.
Rooms were clean.
Excellent location. Very reasonable price. Very functional hotel with very good breakfast options. Nicolas (??) was extremely helpful and exceeded my expectations! Thanks!
Good Hotel in city centre - great staff, handy location, good underground car park, dog friendly - the city centre is a bit of a mess with lots of building work underway
