A very homely 2-bedroom apartment that is furnished with a lot care in details. It is more than a rental unit, more like hime-stay. Natalie and Claude are warm and chatty. They really make us feel welcomed. When leaving, Natalie also offered us some cakes, cookies and nuts for our onward joirney.

The grounds of the hotel are truly beautiful, we really liked that the hotel was spread across multiple buildings, it made each room feel very private. There is a beautiful garden and small farm where some of the restaurants ingredients are sourced from. Very accommodating of our dog and baby, we requested a ground floor room and given the age of our baby were very conveniently given a room tucked in the corner so we didn’t feel like we were disturbing anyone else when the baby woke in the night. There was also a small courtyard outside our room so we could enjoy a drink outside after our baby went to sleep. Although we didn’t use it, we did see a high chair in the bar area. We didn’t see a single high chair in any French restaurant! There is also a lovely children’s play area next to the pool and the pool is warm enough for babies. Every single member of staff was so friendly and helpful. They managed to squeeze us in at the bistro on a French public holiday, and accommodated our request to sit in the bar incase the baby was noisy. The staff were extremely helpful in helping get a same day vet appointment for us after I accidentally booked the wrong day with my limited French. We were even given some plates and cutlery to enjoy a picnic in the grounds on our last night, and were very kindly given wine on check out to remember our stay. The pool area is really nice and the pool is warm. I liked that it was separate from the main building so no rooms would be disturbed by guests visiting the pool. We were lucky enough to be the only people at the pool area when we were there, but when we had a look while looking around the grounds it did look quite busy on one of the days. The food is excellent, as is the wine list. We dined in the bistro one night and from the bistro menu in the bar on another. If we didn’t have a baby, we would have dined in the restaurant, but it felt a little too formal for us. We are pescatarian and found the menu sufficient.

Very good evening meal. The packed lunch for our onward journey was excellent value and very enjoyable.

The room was clean, and breakfast was good. There was plenty of car-parking.

What a wonderful experience! A dream if many to stay in a chateau of the Loire, enhanced by wonderful staff, a terrific dinner, and a sumptuous breakfast! What a memory to accompany us for life!

The independence, the town

Clean, comfortable. We arrived late and called to give them our arrival time so they asked if we would like to book dinner which was great. Nice restaurant too.

Location was good

Very convenient location, price not cheap because of popularity fo Chenonceau. Huge room for the 4 of us. Breakfast was good (although also not cheap and not for extras, like cooked items)
