Lovely old hotel in a great location overlooking the bay. Very nice, spacious, clean rooms with tea and coffee facilities. Had nice meal in hotel each night with good choice of dishes. Staff were very nice and helpful. Great base for tour of the island.

Truly excellent place to visit especially for history buffs, with midget submarines in WW2, to Scotlands first flight by a blacksmith no less, to all the hidden gems of coastline, views. Mount Steuart would take several days to fully explore but a stunning georgian house. With some wonderful cafe's throughout the island, some even more amazing hostelries to dine at It's a place that you will want to return to time and time again.

There's some lovely walks and beaches on Bute, and if you don’t want to do a hike, the beaches and shores are accessible by good public transport links, or bike hire is available. It is a small island so easy to explore, but check bus times as service ends early in the evening. There are some good shops in Rothesay and nice cafes, although dining options are limited in the evening. There’s a putting green and crazy gold at the front and you can stroll along the promenades. The castle has re-opened and is worth a visit.

You can access Rothesay & The isle of bute travelling with Caledonian Mcbrayne Ferries, from Wemyss Bay. You can access Wemyss Bay from Glasgow City Centre by a direct bus service - bus 906 operated by McGills. The ferry service between Wemyss and Rothesay runs daily at a hourly service. It's a lovely ferry crossing too, takes around 35min. Now in Rothesay, there is plenty to do. Rothesay is a charming small town with a small amount of decent shops & eateries. There is also Rothesay Castle, located in the centre of the town which is well worth visiting. You can access most of the island using the bus company called west coast motors. A 24hr Adult Bus Day Ticket is only £4.50. When I was on the island I used Bus Service 490, Rhubodach To Ettrick Bay Via Rothesay. Its a very scenic Bus journey indeed. If you are into your hiking & walking, Ettrick Bay & Rhubodach at the north of the island are fabulous places for a relaxing walk. Thankyou for reading my review ☺️.

Beautiful landscape, amazing locals and the city has everything one might need: food, postal office, drinks, a variety of accommodations, lovely port and the travel from Wemyss Bay with the boat was magical.

It is a beautiful island with scenic views, nice shops, a late night supermarket, cozy pubs, friendly locals and a very pretty waterfront to walk along. The Diner cafe is a good place to eat and the staff there are lovely.

The location of the hotel is great. We arrived at night so was looking forward to the view in the morning, and we weren't disappointed. The bed was comfortable so we had a good night's sleep, with not much traffic passing either. The shower was also very good, with great pressure and was hot The furniture was old, but the quality was fine! The wardrobe had some hangers and a full mirror. When we had an issue they sorted it straight away, and the guy was nice and friendly. In general it is a cute place and we had a nice stay

The view of the house and the room stood out. On top of a hill in the heart of the town of Rothesay in a traditional gorgeous big house is a thrill. The shower was excellent in a bathroom with a variety of marble, the size of your room. In between was a kind of pantry for coffee and tea, with a microwave. Staff was very friendly and willing to help you out for finding a place to have dinner. Parking on top of the hill next to the house is very useful.

Everything. The location was perfect, right across from the water, and within walking distance to Rothesay. The house itself is roomy and has everything you could want. The grounds are spacious and Carolynn and John encourage you to play on the front lawn with the various garden games they provide in the shed next to the house. They are very kind and provide little touches such as milk and biscuits, shampoo and conditioner and even disposable barbecues.

Everything. The place itself, a gorgeous old house with these beautiful large windows on the best view ever. The room was large and super cosy, one of the most comfy bed I've ever slept on. Kristine was super welcoming and the breakfast was an absolute 10/10 - with a view to die for. Honestly blown away, especially for that price ! I travel a lot and stay in many different hotels and B&B but this one is definitely my "coup de cœur" of this year.

The location was good - a 10 minute walk into the centre of Rothesay. Everything was very well organised regarding covid arrangements. Breakfast was very tasty and appeared very promptly. Our room was at the front of the hotel with a lovely view overlooking the bay. Good tea & coffee making facilities available in the bedrooms and also in the dining room during the day.

It's the location that is perfect overlooking the Rothesay Harbour, and the with convenience of having everything on your doorstep, including the Co-op literally beneath you with the facility of having freshly baked croissants from them every morning. It is also a nice modern apartment. Our third stay in three years.

Host Jane was simply lovely. Hotel similar. Breakfast wonderful. If there was one tiny let down the shower was a but like a warmer Scottish coastal drizzle but I am nit picking. Do go there as it seems that Rothesay needs a lot of support as it seems to be fading away.
