harlech is a beautiful part of wales. it has hardly changed since i went there as a child. i am now 70 yrs old. it is a town that is in a time warp. if you don't like it then there is something wrong with you !!!

Walked up the steepest street in the northern hemisphere which was challenging - took me about 7 minutes. Castle is very good. Nice cheese and beer shop opposite the castle. It was a good base from which to travel to other towns.

Overlooked by its majestic castle, Harlech should be a wonderful place but underinvestment (and probably the results of the pandemic) have left it with many shuttered shops and closed businesses. A great shame, as it's a shadow of the town it used to be.

    Best beach in the world.

Best beach in the world. We spent 3 days on the beach in Harlech and could have spent much longer. Castle is always spectacular. Travelled around on public transport only, went on Ffestiniog railway. Great couple of shops in Upper Harlech selling all homewares, and fresh food. Groser Harlech great for breakfast pastries and organic produce. Lovely walk around to find the 5 Merion chairs. Woodland walk down from chair 3 to lower road through woodland, a cave and a waterfall in someone's garden.

As the weather wasn’t good. Heavy rain we didn’t get onto the beach as intended or indeed explore the local area as planned. Harlech has a lot to offer as we have been there previously and we intend to visit again. Country side and views are amazing and the Castle restaurant in Harlech does amazing food.

Harlech has a great Castle and an amazing beach (approx 5km long and separated into dog / no dog zones). There is a lot of self catering accommodation but you really need to travel to the next town (20mins) for a bigger shop. Porthmadog has everything. If you want to eat out in Harlech, there's very limited choice (we only found 2 good places, both hotels) Besides the beach and castle, there is golf and good walks. If you after nightlife, probably not for you.

We had a wonderful time at the Crown Lodge. The view from the property is out of this world. You see the dunes, beach and entire bay and mountains far into the distance. We had a sea view room with unobstructed views. The lodge is a beautiful old house, full of authentic woorden details. I loved all the different wallpapers. Our room was big, very clean and had a very comfortable bed. Breakfast had many options and was delicious. The couple running the hotel was very friendly and chatty. We enjoyed our time in Harlech very much.

We were made to feel very welcome from the moment of our arrival and throughout our stay. Deborah was very friendly and always happy to chat with us and give recommendations of places to visit in the area. The property stands in a lovely peaceful location away from town, but easily accessible by car and close enough to neighboring village for evening meal. Plenty of off-road parking available for guests. Excellent breakfast choice include, pre-ordered to personal preferences on preceding evening.

On arrival we were given keys to the outer door as well as our room. Excellent breakfast, nothing too much trouble. The room was a good size with great view out to sea. The Tea/coffee etc was topped up each morning. The room was cleaned although we had expected it not to be due to covid regs. Nice comfy bed and warm duvet. The owners are a very pleasant couple and both have good local knowledge of the area. Parking is at the side of the property up a steep drive.

Great location. Short walk to town center. Brilliant views of the sea from the bedroom window. The owner was very welcoming even offering to make a pot of tea on our arrival. The owner had added lots of thoughtful things for the house/room (eg. A small fridge in the room supplied with fresh milk!) The whole house was scrupulously clean. The owner gave us lots of local information about the surrounding area.

The cottage was perfect for the two of us and our dog. Nicely equipped and so quick to warm up. Harlech Castle is beautiful and fun to explore. The Deli in the village is wonderful & the shop diagonally opposite is one of those small places that sell everything! The shop opposite the castle has outstanding homemade ice cream. The walks around the town are beautiful and the beach is reached through dunes.

A very welcoming host Saul. Great location in Harlech, for beach, golf, castle etc. Rooms decorated to very high spec. A good night's sleep! Big TV in our room and we watched some iPlayer. Access to host's kitchen too. Would recommend and hopefully stay here again. The dog Link was friendly too!
