Terrific location with wonderful views of Tweedsmuir Hills from dining room and many bedrooms (including mine when no van outside window). Good sized swimming-pool with sauna and jacuzzi. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff, good service in dining room. One 'quiet' bar, one with live music (Saturday) and a lively vibe. Was there with a large family party, and lots of flexibility in arrangements for that. A great stay overall.

Our room was lovely, clean & big at the top front of the building, panoramic windows! Good power shower & great location. Food was hearty & enjoyable. Thank you Andy, Sam & all those working hard behind the scenes.

Staff in all areas were excellent.
Staff in all areas were excellent. Used the gym rather than the pool this time around preferring to chill out more than usual in the main lounge area. Food in the restaurant was lovely and the breakfast had almost everything you would want. If you want to eat out there are a number if options. Over our two visits we had excellent meals in The Mandarin (great team), The Cross Keys (Weatherspoons), Number 56 cafe (local favourite) Green Tree Hotel and The Crown.

Attractive riverside walks; castles within walking or driving distance; the town has good quality coffee shops and some gift shops; not far from Edinburgh if wanting to go further afield. Town has health centre and hospital. Also theatre. Some of town's attractions do not open until Easter.

A lovely wee town still blessed with many individual shops and supermarkets for self caterers. Also a good choice of eating-out places. For the fitter people or those with dogs there are many walks available and with a car there other locations to visit reasonably close by.

What's not to like?
What's not to like? We are regular visitors becuase we love Pebbles is has lots of really good independant shops, we save up shopping to do there and has great Theatre in the Eastgate worth planning round shows. The town is set in a bowl surrounded by beautiful hills and the surrounding countryside is very beautiful, great for cycling and walking. It is quick and easy to get to Edinburgh for day out. It has a regular bus service into Edinburgh and the surrounding countryside which also carries bikes too. We used to be able to go to the Fringe Festival and get back on late bus after a show but sadly that service is no longer available but buses do still run into the late evening.

We have been to Peebles before and love it for the gorgeous independent shops. The surrounding area is beautiful. This visit we used it as a base for visiting Edinburgh's Fringe Festival. Hotel prices in August remain the same in Peebles unlike in Edinburgh where they double! There is direct bus service from Peebles to the city centre and the Park and Ride at Straiton is efficient and convenient - and cheap!! A £2 bus fare, including parking, compared with £5 per hour in Edinburgh. It was also a lot less stressful than driving around the city. Dinner at The Horseshoes was wonderful.
Central in Peebles and adjacent to bars, restaurants and sights. Nice views and pleasant staff. I had the penthouse suite for 4 of us staying together and it was comfortable and ideal for our the purpose of our trip. The breakfasts were large, well served and the sausage, haggis and bacon was tasty! The breakfast conservatory was lovely to sit in. The staff were all really smiley, chatty and friendly and really making and added plus to this hotel. Each was willing to engage, to help and to chat. I thought the staff were really top notch!
I really appreciate your attention to reducing the carbon footprint of a hotel -- I liked having glass glasses in the room, real cups, very little plastic or one-time use plastic. The breakfast was outstanding and the wait staff, especially Alex in the dining room, were attentive and helpful. Wonderful location, wonderful view, excellent trip !
Lovely little one bedroom bungalow within easy walking distance of Peebles centre. Had all amenities expected and some which were not i.e. it has fridge, washing machine, oven and microwave as well as a dishwasher. Small sunlounge, garden area back and front with space to park the car in the driveway. Overall excellent
The whole experience was terrific. The staff was helpful, friendly, and engaging. We enjoyed a nice lunch in the bar area and a delicious breakfast in the morning. The room was very comfortable and the view from the room was unmatched. I would definitely recommend The Park to anyone visiting the lovely town of Peebles.
A lovely hotel just ten minutes drive from Peebles. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant is nice and the meal we had on one evening was good. Breakfasts were also good with a served buffet. We didn’t use the golf course or spa treatments but did use the pool which was very nice.
The hotel is a golf/spa hotel with a gym in the ground floor. If you stay for one of these then all things may be overlooked. Some of the rooms overlook part of the golf course as does the restaurant and some meeting rooms. The course is a source of exercise, even if it is just walking around it.
The location is great. 10- minute walk to centre of the town, and close by the river, which is lovely if you have decent weather. There are some neat little shops with friendly assistants. A few hotels around for meals and drinks, and a good chippie. Peebles is a nice little town in general.
This is a small and friendly exclusive location, set in its own grounds. Just outside of Peebles and Edinburgh a short distance away, the county setting is very quiet. Excellent restaurant and the staff could not be more helpful. We picked this hotel as it included an EV charge point.
Great little place and aptly named! Lovely and warm, small but all we needed for a weekend stay in Peebles. Both the main bed and the pull-out in the living room were very comfy. The hosts were very responsive to any questions we had. They'd even left us a bottle of wine, so kind!
The menu available at the hotel was ok and reasonably priced. The location of the hotel to the centre of peebles in handy and plenty of free parking (sun to fri) in the nearby car park off edinburgh rd in peebles. Tea and coffee facilities available in the room.
It is central to Peebles, it is a small family owned hotel / pub…the staff were excellent
The room was lovely, clean welcoming and quiet during the night
Breakfast was exceptional and the food in the evening was delicious
I couldn't fault the room we were given when we checked in. It was a large room with a fantastic view and everything felt and looked so fresh. We didn't have breakfast but we had dinner in the hotel twice and it was lovely.
Lovely flat, clean and comfortable. On a quiet path just off Peebles high street and free parking during the week close by. Host was good at communicating and gave clear instructions. I'd be happy to stay there again
The breakfast was very nice... Continental items and then a hot dish.
Comfortable beds.
Great location with shopping and pubs nearby.
Parking behind the hotel.
Wonderful staff.
Clean room.
The hotel is situated in a very convenient location for looking round the shops in Peebles. It was very cosy and warm. The bedroom was very comfortable with a lovely modern bathroom.
The breakfast was lovely with a good variety of cooked food. The position of the hotel in the high street was perfect with parking. The staff were very approachable and friendly
Very affordable. Old hotel with busy restaurant. Or busy restaurant with some rooms above, more like it. Very friendly staff. Felt perfectly secure. Good parking in the rear.
The Green Tree is a good budget hotel in the heart of Peebles. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Probably overdue for an upgrade but clean and tidy. Breakfast was very good.
