Brunswick Quay is set within Surrey Quays (formerly Surrey Docks), a largely residential area of Rotherhithe in south-east London, part of London Borough of Southwark. The are has a long history as a port, with many shipyards from Elizabethan times until the early 20th century and with working docks until the 1970s. The only surviving areas of open water are Greenland Dock, South Dock, part of Canada Dock (renamed Canada Water), remnants of Norway Dock, and a basin renamed Surrey Water. Surrey Quays offer some fantastic amenities such as Southwark Park, Surrey Docks Watersport Centre, The Odeon Cinema, and various contemporary bars, restaurants and pubs.
