We lived in South Brent for a good many years and were there to catch up with old friends. It's a great location as it sits on the very edge of Dartmoor - so to explore the region is easy from there. On top of that it is 40 minutes from Torquay and Devon's beautiful coastline, and midway between Plymouth at one end of the A38 and Exeter at the other - both historic cities with great shopping.

A deligtful little town with good shops - even a flower shop! Good supper at the Packhorse Inn and very good room at The Station House. I travelled by train to Totnes and then short car/taxi ride to South Brent. I would have liked to stay longer to enjoy the local walks but I was attending a family funeral there and had to get home to Kent.

Location pretty. Food excellent. Room adequate although the bed was very comfortable. It was very busy at all times during our stay & sometimes the service was a bit slow & fussy-lots of staff asking but nobody actually doing!

The trip to South Brent was made by my two friends from Worcestershire, Peter and Margaret. Peter was taken ill on the first night of his stay, and the care and attention he received were amazing, nothing was too much trouble for him. My friends loved their room, it was very comfortable and contained everything they needed. My husband and I live near the hotel, and sometimes enjoy a meal there. The waitresses are so kind and considerate. We love Turtley Corn Mill, it is a really special place to spend time.

This was something Completely different, if you take note this is not a holiday camp or hotel you will enjoy the remoteness and the fact the view from the window becomes your new TV, Although we did not meet the host we had good communication through message service with directions etc. Also even though you are technically "off grid" you are still close to lots of places of interest. There is also a pub / restaurant a very short walk away - you WILL need a headlight or torch at night......it is very dark

The hotel is in a beautiful setting, the rooms are spacious, stylish and well equipped, and the staff go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable, well fed and happy. Just the right balance of formal hospitality and a warm, friendly home-from-home vibe. We loved it! We were a group of seven in the area for a wedding and the hotel was a perfect base. We had two great dinners there and our three breakfasts were oustanding. The roaming peacocks are an added bonus!

Fabulous hotel! Gorgeous, unique decor indoors and a beautifully maintained garden outside which was lovely to relax and have a drink in. We had a wine-tasting experience which was brilliant - the sommelier really knew his stuff and was very charismatic. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious - we especially loved the beef croquette nibbles! The staff were all really friendly and welcoming. Overall a wonderful stay and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

The property, while close to the A road, remains quiet and secluded. The lane next to the property offers an easy walk to a pub about 5 minutes away (a tad expensive) or South Brent village at about a 25 minutes walk, which has got all the shops, pubs that we needed. The interior is comfortable, and easily warmed with the log burner. Despite the listing saying there was no WIFI available, there was, and it ran Spotify easily. Didn't use it for anything else.

The staff were friendly and the location was good for us as we were visiting friends in South Brent. The room was spacious. Our friends’ room had been renovated and was nice - if we were given that room my review would be much more positive.
