Perfect base for exploring the Peak District.

Perfect base for exploring the Peak District. Close to Chatsworth and beautiful views across the hills. Good starting point for various lovely walks. Very quiet village but possible to walk to one or two pubs (within 2-3 miles). Locals seemed very friendly.

Elton is a lovely village, surrounded by beautiful countryside, there are several walks from the village & the locals are very friendly. There is no shop in Elton but there is one in Winster, the pub in Elton only opens at 20.30hrs, but again there are others close by in surrounding villages.

Quiet village with a lot of old buildings. Being on the top of a hill it was quite windy but very fresh clean air, some nice local eggs and honey for sale outside a couple of houses. Great if you like walks and a peaceful break

It's a great base for exploring the Peak District.

It's a great base for exploring the Peak District. I was there for 2 nights (just after the 2019 floods) and managed to pack in lots. The Lumsdale Valley walk and waterfalls are very close and a must.
