The staff were amazing. I think her name Alice was so helpful, so I have epilepsy and the hall light was flashing, so we called and switched us rooms so quickly.

Although a small room, it was comfortable. 2 bottles of water were provided, one still and one sparkling, which was a nice touch.

The Edward hotel was a very homely environment with friendly helpful staff. The room was on the ground floor as requested . It was spacious with its own small en-suite.
The room was by the side entrance which lead out to the garden , and also into the dinning area where breakfast was served.
The hotel did not have a restaurant as such but it did have a microwave and a small fridge in the room. This was not a problem for us as there are plenty of restaurants and pubs within the town centre.
The hotel was clean and you do not get disturbed with room service and cleaning. The hotel issues you with a key to which you let you self in with at the front door or side entrance which also opens your room door. It also had a bottle opener on the key ring which was a nice touch. The hotel was centrel to the city centre and the areas where you can visit such as the cathedral and venues for weddings and parties.
Lovely little hotel which we would stay in again.

The building is very old, and we are immediately immersed in an atmosphere worthy of a film set! I loved ! The establishment is very well located and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
I spent a perfect stay! I will without hesitation take a room in this establishment if I return to Gloucester.

Beautiful cathedral which is what we came to see.
Beautiful cathedral which is what we came to see. Good transport links to other towns - Worcester and Tewkesbury. Docks area is attractive with restaurants, bars etc. and the area around the cathedral has some nice shops, tea rooms etc.

It’s very easy to reach Gloucester from the hotel especially if you like shopping at the Gloucester Quays. Found it very handy to get to Stroud and Painswick as well and the M5 motorway.
I personally wouldn’t use the bistro pub for meals at the Gloucester quays- the high orchard. Microwave meals with the wrong prices still in the menus and bar staff manager who couldn’t give a toss.
Cheltenham is nice to eat in if you fancy a day out and lots of dog friendly places too.

We wanted lots of choice of food and night time entertainment . Although the food we had was good in the main it was the usual branded restaurants. Night time bar entertainment very limited. Not very much high octane adventure to be had here. Won’t be rushing back

Yes gloucester is a nice area.
Yes gloucester is a nice area. But I would avoid staying at the new Inn, the management isn't fit for purpose. I've bren in other places with better management and more customer awareness. Management highly sensitive, room needs refurbishment. Just remember if you do stay there avoid saying something management doesn't like at the new inn, or you end up with a wooden bed, no shower or mattress. They get your money and you get free accommodation from his majesties police force. Don't waste your money, there is better accommodation in the area. Otherwise the area has great views, canal walks, and walks in general. And other stuff going on for it. It's a gorgeous place

Gloucester and the people are wonderful and friendly.
Gloucester and the people are wonderful and friendly. The views are amazing, if you live in the city and want a break this is the place to visit. The designer outlet is amazing too full great products at great prices.
The flowers in view of the kitchen, it has a hot tub, and jacuzzi bath, the fire in the middle room, in peaceful countryside near a bakery, pub, hotel, farm house, close to town and stroud farmers market, equally close to Gloucester. The host is a nurse, and the closest hospital is 20minute drive. The host left cakes and eggs which was sweet, and recommended afternoon tea nearby.
We need a last minute hotel on a long commute from North to South of England and multiple issues with the road network. We found this property and telephoned them - they were magnificent in arranging a child cot last minute for us, although they did not erect the cot they did put it in the room. They also provided us with 2x bottles of water on check in.
We had a marvellous time here in September during a very difficult time for our family. The staff could not have been more friendly, accommodating, kind and understanding. We were made to feel very special and the whole hotel is charming and welcoming. The spa was gorgeous and relaxing. Would definitely recommend the dining experience too. We'll be back!
This very old hotel has an amazing history dating back to 1450 and as it is so old there are outside stairs and narrow corridors and is not immaculate. We did not see any ghosts! It is a 5 minute walk to the cathedral and about a 15 minute walk to Gloucester Quays and the shops and restaurants, so in a very good location. We did not eat at the hotel.
An ideal location as it is in the centre of Gloucester, the famous cathedral is only 7 minutes away, the dock area about 10 minutes which has an amazing selection of restaurants and bars. Also you are besides the bus station and train station is near by,only 10 walk to Kingsholm rugby stadium if you are there for a rugby match .
The room was as expected with sloped floors denoting the age of the property. The location was perfect, our friends had chosen to celebrate in a private room in the same hotel/pub. We then explored Gloucester the next day from this very central location. Breakfast in the hotel was an absolute treat.
Air Conditioned room, modern and stylish decor, full facilities available including SPA and Gym. Great food, attentive staff, helpful, happy and hard working from what we witnessed. Room service was also offered as well as a very reasonable breakfast. Best Hotel I have ever stayed in.
Nice, clean hotel with really friendly staff. We had our supper and breakfast at the hotel. Supper was really delicious! We had spa access included with our room booking and we had a really relaxing time there. Lovely location from Gloucester and not far from the Cotswolds.
Nothing our stay was ruined by a rude and unprofessional bar man called steve who refused to accept he was wrong and insulted us repeatedly
We will never return to this hotel again
However the nice lady manager rectified the problem the next morning.
Charmain was an excellent host during our stay; a genuine girl of Gloucester. The health club staff were helpful and the folks on the bar very responsive when there were lots of thirsty customers! Great Value Hotel with Great Staff!
did not have hotel breakfast ate in Gloucester, hotel very good value good overall, the shower in room excellent very powerful and hot. bus service into Gloucester every 15 mins 15 minute journey. Staff very pleasant and helpful
This was a comfortable hotel with very welcoming staff on reception. Location was great so we were able to rest and continue our journey refreshed after the inclusive breakfast. Hotel offered everything we needed.
