The Swan Inn by Innkeeper's Collection, hotel in Horning

Overlooking the River Bure, this black-and-white timbered lodge offers a cosy pub with seasonally inspired food. The Southern Comfort paddle boat is moored just outside the property.

Breakfast was very good, lots of choice could have done with some cereal. Service was a bit patchy, order came with beans and no mushrooms as asked for. Had to ask for cutlery and butter just a bit of effort needed really. Room was good, nice ensuite, windows not great as pigeons came in room when opened. Location really good couldnt have been better. Just think with a little money spent on it to update and a bit of training for staff this location could be excellent. Staff very friendly and did try. Food when it arrived as did have to wait quite a while was excellent and worth the wait.

Sutton Staithe Hotel, hotel in Horning

Set in Sutton, 26 km from Blickling Hall, Sutton Staithe Hotel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

The breakfast was ok, would be nice to have some yogurt and fresh fruit, the roast dinner was very good. Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable but there was no milk for tea and no hot water but to be fair we didnt say anything but if we had I'm sure that it would have been rectified. The landlord was very obliging when I asked if we could have some warm water because our car parked over the road over night had been visited by several birds !! and as we were going on an MG rally that morning it needed to be cleaned.

don't miss a trip on Southern Comfort. Don't miss the History of Radar Museum. It really is interesting. Going from WW11 to Cold war. Talks by the men and women who operated the kit. Wroxham Barns, the cider is great so buy some. and some other great shops. Plenty of boat hire places.

Horning is a really nice riverside village.

Horning is a really nice riverside village. We were keen to leave because Villa Morea was very disappointing accommodation that spoiled our trip completely. The view of the river is exaggerated as it is merely a glimpse between two properties.

The staff were really good and very helpful, the rooms were clean but need some revamping, the bed was comfortable, but the food was of a lesser standard than Wetherspoons, tough steaks for dinner and burnt toast undercooked bacon and overcooked eggs for breakfast

Favourite places included the village recreation ground for daily dog walking, the three friendly pubs where we had meals, the cottage and it's small garden which attracted heron and other birds. The river trip on the paddle steamer "Southern Comfort". We attempted to see a great deal of Norfolk on this trip but in doing so found the driving required to be somewhat excessive. Nevertheless we managed some excellent walks using the book "Norfolk - Outstanding Circular Walks", and relevant maps, and also briefly visited Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Cromer and Wells next the Sea. We saw seals on the beach during a walk from Horsey Wind Pump, and had a challenging, interesting walk from Fellbrigg Hall.

Lovely little riverside village, great for families with small children - we fed the ducks, you can buy a bag of feed from the local shop for just 50p! The reason we chose Horning was due to its close location to BeWILDerwood, just 3 mins drive! Also a great place if your after a day or two just relaxing by the river, cute little tea rooms and a pub right on the river! Boat trips run daily from here too!

A lovely holiday home just off the river Bure in Horning, with parking right outside. A beautiful location, 30 seconds away from the local shops and from the river front. The house was clean and well kept and perfect for our family of 6 (3 adults, 2 children and a toddler). The owner has thought of everything, including a wonderful welcome pack for when we arrived. This truly was a home from home. The owner was also able to arrange a great deal on a day boat and we had a lovely day out at Salhouse broad. Highly recommended.

The location is really good! The fact that this cottage was off of the main river was great, which is what we wanted so we could fish in peace. You do get some boats passing but these are from the people who have boats moored nearby and are going out for the day. It is in a very peaceful and idyllic location. Horning is such a lovely place to visit especially if you like fishing. The people are really friendly and cannot do enough for you. Local shops nearby and 3 pubs within walking distance.

Excellent location a five minute walk to pubs and village shops. Size of garden good but be careful with younger children as leads down to a mooring. The view from property is wonderful. There is clean bedding, lovely and warm with good control of temperature . Comfortable sofas but one needs cleaning . Plenty of hot water for a bath downstairs. Lots of towels if needed. There’s a washing machine. Kitchen equipment okay apart from dishwasher

Great house, clean and well laid out with seven proper beds. Excellent location to discover the Norfolk Broads. The village of Horning is lovely with the best pub less than 100 yards away. My family was blown away with how good the accommodation was.
