We know the Isle of Man very well and although Douglas has suffered through the current financial crisis, it is still a good city to visit. The museum is free and very informative. The tour of the government building likewise. It is easy to get around the city and buses to other parts of the island are plentiful. There is a range of restaurants to suit every pocket and we also cane home with Isle of Man kippers. People are friendly, including the lovely staff at the Hydro. I would always encourage visitors to make Douglas a base and travel all over the Island. Peel, Ramsey and Castletown all are worth a visit and offer differing aspects of the Island.

Douglas is a seaside town with most places in close proximity to each other; the ferry terminal and Tourists Information Centre, the shops, cafés, pubs, banks, museum, and the two seafront theatres. The Villa Marina is a large theatre and cinema. The Gaiety Theatre is a smaller and most charming old theatre. Further down the Seafront is The Palace Cinema. I enjoyed a good film there. Comfortable seats. There a nice chippies around the town. The bus route Douglas to Ramsey along the coast road has stunning views. The other main towns are quick and easy to get to on bus, and the airport too. That's just half hour away.

I lived in Douglas for 3 years, 20 years ago, so I know it well. Although, there has been many changes. Nice city, friendly people, things to see. A city you can relax in as it's not like other cities.
This has to be one of the best hotels I've stayed in, all the staff were fantastic, especially the Reception as they were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The location was perfect and the hotel itself was spotlessly clean.
Our room was spacious with a lovely balcony which overlooked the atrium. The bathroom was also very spacious.
Breakfast was fantastic, plenty to choose from and always constantly topped up if any item ran low.
This is one hotel we'd happily come back to time and time again.
The is a great location along the promenade with easy walking access to the beach and a longer walk to the shopping and restaurant area. The hotel's restaurant was good with a nice buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The offer a High Tea but you have to reserve 24 hours in advance. The staff was very helpful. We took the local bus from the airport to the hotel, it stops right out front; and a taxi back - very easy. Make sure you say "Hi" to the fairies when you cross the fairy bridge. :-)
Lovely hotel with very friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Rooms were beautifully furnished, clean and spacious. Nice choice of places to sit and relax around the hotel good bar serving hot and cold drinks, breakfast was lovely and fresh with good choice. The first night we used the hotel restaurant and the food was delicious with excellent service. We will definitely stay again when travelling to the Isle of Man and would recommend to anyone else
Lisa and Paul were super warm and friendly and helpful. Really a delightful hotel with cosy, comfortable and clean rooms. No complaints at all. And the breakfast was lovely and hit the spot every morning. Great location, right on the Loch Promenade - stone's throw from the beach. There is also a full on high street right behind the hotel plus a number of bars open till late. Highly recommend and if I am back in Douglas again I would stay there again.
A really good apartment in an excellent position alongside the quay. Very helpful and cheerful staff and the comfortable accommodation was well equipped and modern. Must be one of the best locations in Douglas. Close to some classy restaurants but there were also some budget options nearby too. A very short walk to the railway station, buses and, if driving, well situated to access the other resorts of the Isle of Man. Would definitely return
The apartments themselves were super spacious and well furnished. Each flat had its own heating you could control which was lovely, and there were tons of nice little additions such as a carton of fresh milk for tea and a fully kitted out kitchen. The views of the Quay and Douglas Head are amazing, and our son just loved window gazing. The receptionist was also lovely, providing extra tea and assistance when requested.
Very friendly and helpful staff from reception and all other departments. Scenic and quiet location. The veiws from the breakfast/coffee lounge were stuning. The breakfast buffet was mainly very good with a good selection of hot and cold food. A nice fresh new feel to the hotel. Possibly the nicest on the Island. Lovely golf course which would have played if had time.

Location is perfect 2 minute walk from the main Electirc Railway which gives you access to beyond Douglas & The Horse Tram only a short walk to Bus Stop. Parking avallable outside the hotel.
Paul and Lisa are very accommodating and gracious! We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The hotel is very centrally located, rooms are immaculate and Lisa was so sweet to us and left us a baggie each of sandwiches and snacks for our departure. This is by far my favorite hotel to stay in on the island x
The hotel was amazing. It was clean, tidy and welcoming. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order, perfect way to start my days out. Acky the barman was friendly and always on hand to help, in and out of the bar. Definitely will be my first choice when revisiting the isle of man.
