The hotel was on the main road which was convenient. Sue was very helpful. The room was upstairs from a nice small bar where the locals were friendly and interesting to talk to. The bed was very big and comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. There were interesting whiskey displays in the bar as well. We had a very pleasant stay.
Boasting a shared lounge and views of mountain, Gowanbrae Bed and Breakfast is a bed and breakfast set in a historic building in Dufftown, 23 km from Huntly Castle.
Craigallachie itself is very small. If you are out and about in the car it is perfect for you. The Highlander Inn was a great place to eat. Aberlour just 2 miles away was in walking distance and the walk along the river was nice. You had to walk along the main road to get to the path though. The cottage is just off the main road but it is quite peaceful. You don`t hear the traffic inside really. Unfortunately we didn`t get to many tourist places as they were still closed.

Close to lots of things to do indoors and out.
Close to lots of things to do indoors and out. Enjoyed the trip even though most of the distilleries were closed. Had a great visit to the cooperage and lots of walks which were accessible and manageable by us.

Very relaxed and relaxing.
Very relaxed and relaxing. Friendly laid back staff, no fuss about checkin or checkout times, or about dogs being a bit boisterous. The restaurant is informal, in a bar setting, and the food was good standard. Lovely walks nearby, just right for a short winter break with roaring log fire and a cosy whisky bar.

A relaxing stay but we did have to eat in more than anticipated as it was difficult to get booked in to any of the local restaurants/pubs. We managed to get booked in to the Copper Dog on our last night and really enjoyed it.
Absolute gorgeous small country house hotel. Would love to book it out with friends and pretend it’s my country pile - even if just for the weekend! Beautiful room, comfy bed, lovely freshly cooked breakfast. We were visiting our daughter (who cooked dinner for us!) but having had breakfast, would have like to have tried dinner here, as the food was lovely! Great little bar and beautiful drawing room. Looking for a venue for a small, intimate country wedding? Consider this place - your photos will be gorgeous!
Excellent staff at the reception, willing to provide you with all information needed.
Excellent breakfast, large variety, fresh products and one of the few places that you find not only industrial bread but other kinds.
Very good Wifi, and very good water pressure. Espresso machine in the room.
Excellent location for hiking, next to the river.
Very nice decoration of the restaurant.
Very fast check-in and you pay at the hotel, no money is deducted prior to your arrival like in most of the hotels.
The location was wonderful as it was a haven hidden away from any busy areas. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Scott was more than helpful with information about the area and shared valuable and interesting information about the various distilleries in the area. The breakfast went beyond our expectations. My husband isn't a traveler, but wants to return to Craigellachie in the future. An added plus was the ample parking space.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The location, being so close to the Speyside Way is absolutely perfect for a walk and also if you have a dog. The wonderful example of Thomas Telford’s engineering - the Spey Bridge at Craigellachie is also a short walk from the Highlander Inn. The food and the vast selection of malt whiskies was just a delight. This will now be our preferred place to stay when visiting the Speyside area.
I loved the whole character of the place, I was greeted with a very warm welcome from the owners. The room was exceptional and tastefully laid out. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever tasted. Most of all being a lone female traveller I judge a hotel by how safe I feel and this was one of the most relaxed and comfortable places I have ever been in. I can't wait to return.
A gem of a hotel with friendly helpful staff great atmosphere in the copper dog for dinner . Then a wonderful selection of whisky in the quaich bar . Good selection on dinner menu with good specials always a good choice for breakfast to start the day. The rooms as is the whole of the hotel very clean and tidy Would highly recommend if staying in speyside.
Breakfast was delicious, the room was large and really beautifully furnished. Lovely location and also near many distilleries. The whisky bar in the hotel was great, with a super knowledgeable and friendly barman. We also enjoyed dinner at the restaurant.
Fantastic location and communication from the property was excellent. On-site dining very good and whisky bar is world class. This property is an absolute gem and is not properly marketed on the site.
