The hotel was on the main road which was convenient. Sue was very helpful. The room was upstairs from a nice small bar where the locals were friendly and interesting to talk to. The bed was very big and comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. There were interesting whiskey displays in the bar as well. We had a very pleasant stay.
The Station Hotel is situated in Rothes and features a garden and a bar. This 4-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. Glen Grant Whisky Distillery is a 2-minute walk away.
Set in Rothes and only 17 km from Elgin Cathedral, 4 Stills Apartment offers accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking.

This is the first place in The UK that I could easily say I felt at home.
The apartment is fully equipped with all that you might wish. The place was really clean and cosy for a person from the continent /you know what I mean :) /.
See you next time when we'll give us much more time to visit the splendid distilleries in Speyside.
Thank you so much!
Set high above the village of Charlestown of Aberlour and overlooking the River Spey, this elegant country hotel is an ideal venue for shooting and fishing, and for whisky-lovers.

The nicest friendliest most efficient hotel I’ve stayed in Scotland. The food was exquisite, the breakfast to die for and in abundance. I’ve stayed in the most expensive 5 * hotels in Scotland and have frequently been very disappointed. I found the Dowans Hotel by far the best. I would rate this place 5 stars for sure. The decor is modern and of the highest taste, the staff are lovely, the food is exquisite and the hotel is pristine. I will definitely stay here again. I am extremely fussy but had no issues whatsoever with this hotel. Loved it !!
To edit: The mile long tree lined High Street has an attractive square and village green and situated right in the centre of the Village is the Aberlour Hotel.

So incredibly clean and fresh. Friendly and kind owners. Attention to detail. Beautiful location very near lovely park by river. Comfortable bed. Hot shower. Fresh milk for tea. Quiet. Delicious breakfast.
Ok for a walking base. No eating facilities in village due to COVID restrictions. Very busy thoroughfare for distilleries so no good for peace and quiet. Free parking good. With COVID everything closed even whisky bars in the pubs.

Central so easy to get to all the big whisky distilleries but only 15 minutes from Moray Firth coast as well. Quite a few hotels and a chippy so easy to eat out and small supermarket and tourist info place. Nice walking around the village. Everyone friendly.

As a whisky enthusiast, Rothes is in a great location for daily excursions to the many distilleries in Speside. We always take our dog on holiday, and while I'm visiting distilleries, my wife spends time walking in the countryside, wife our dog, so both activities are easily satisfied within Rothes itself, and also in the surrounding area.
