The accommodation was a stone-built lodge and the quality and presentation was excellent. The kitchen was fully equipped with Oven, hob, microwave, toaster, washing machine etc, and we were pleasantly surprised to find 4 pints of fresh milk in the fridge, and complimentary tea bags, coffee, hot chocolate etc - unexpected in a self catering lodge. The shower room was also exceptional, walk in shower with rainfall and hand held shower options. Smart TV in the lounge area which I was able to log onto Netflicks etc as well as FreeView. The host was so helpful, with lots of information about local beaches, pubs, restaurants etc. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely stay again.

Company information

We have been sharing our wonderful home and surrounding country side with guests for over 10 years. We love travelling ourselves and only expect the highest of standards so we always ensure Talehay offers this as well as those special extras to make your stay as comfortable as possible and a holiday never to forget. We love helping our guests explore the local area and can advise on the best places to eat, places to visit and the many secluded secret bays to visit in the surrounding area.

Property information

EV CHARGING Ideal if you are looking for a ‘get away from it all’ holiday and value peace and tranquility. Talehay Farmhouse is a grade 2 listed Cornish farm house with its origins in the 17th century. It is surrounded by beautiful open countryside and approached down a quiet country lane. The converted stone cottages retain much character and provide well specified and tastefully furnished accommodation around a central courtyard. The cottages are situated in spacious communal gardens with lawned areas, ideal for picnics, barbecues and safe for children to play. To the rear of the main house is a further three acres of fully enclosed meadow which is also available for guest’s recreational use plus indoor barbecue hut and fire pits. Tastefully furnished with all of the things you expect plus those little extras that make your stay so very special. We personally supervise to assure the highest standards of comfort and cleanliness. We are proud to say that many of our guests return each year and highly recommend us to their family and friends. We are Dog friendly.

Talehay is situated a mile from the village of Pelynt, Nr Looe, Cornwall, amidst delightful unspoilt open countryside. The magnificent Cornish coastline with its secluded sandy coves and breath taking views is only 3 miles away. It is ideal if you are looking for a 'get away from it all' holiday seeking peace and tranquillity or as a base to explore the many readily accessible attractions of Cornwall; it's beaches, fishing villages, stately homes, famous gardens, coastal and inland walks as well as the world renowned Eden Project and Poldark filming sites. Available nearby you can enjoy golf, diving, surfing, horse riding, cycling and many country and coastal walks.
