We stayed at the start of the summer holidays and hence were...
We stayed at the start of the summer holidays and hence were caught up in heavy traffic on the A20 enroute to Dover. Apparently that happens quite frequently, so factor this in to travel times. Very close to Leeds Castle, and not far from Canterbury and Sissinghurst so plenty to do in the area.ChristineUnited Kingdom - 8.0Scored 8.0
The Bowl Inn is not actually in Charing but about 2 miles...
The Bowl Inn is not actually in Charing but about 2 miles from the village down a narrow and windy country lane. The pub is on its own with hardly any other buildings within walking distance. Charing itself is an extremely attractive village and well worth a visit for an hour or so.

The tea and coffee tray was the best I have ever seen in a pub/hotel ! I love the fact that the owner left everything you need (water, and even wine!), and you can even order food from the pub in your room. Because we had to get to the Eurotunnel on time they served us as early as possible. Lots of free parkingspace and quiet at night.
