Known for its sandy beaches and good nightlife, Bournemouth is a popular seaside resort on the Dorset coast between Poole and Christchurch.
The town is centred on the Bourne River, running downhill towards the sea by Bournemouth Pier. This pier looks back towards a promenade lined with beach huts at the foot of grassy cliffs. The promenade continues west to Poole, while a road goes east to neighbouring Boscombe, where anglers often fish from its pier. Overlooking it is a clifftop road housing some Bournemouth hotels with sea views.
Booking.com also offers hotels near the BIC – Bournemouth International Centre in the West Cliff area. This convention centre and music venue is a short walk from the Art Deco Pavilion Theatre, located next to the Lower Gardens. In this popular city park is the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered hot air balloon that offers far-reaching views.
At the park’s top end the river disappears under a large square, then emerges in the Central Gardens. Overlooking these gardens is the Victorian town hall, which used to be one of several spa hotels in Bournemouth. Opposite is a Grade I-listed church, and St Peter’s Church has the grave of Mary Shelley, author of ‘Frankenstein’.
On the outskirts of town, near 4 golf courses and the Castlepoint Shopping Centre, is Bournemouth Airport.

I love Bournemouth, it has everything, from a beautiful , sunny beach, to a walk through the urban and tropical gardens to the shopping centre. There are a wide range of high street stores and some individual shops to be found in the shopping area.
There’s an extensive choice when it comes to restaurants.
There is crazy golf in the park for young and old alike.
In short, Bournemouth has it all, whether young or old, Bournemouth is the place to be.

Constantly harassed by homeless and intoxicated people asking for money and following you when you tell them no.
Did not feel safe at night when out and about. Prices in bars were not far off that in London . So disappointed as everything was unjustly expensive and is the reason my partner and I definitely wont be returning to Bournemouth....

Bournemouth is fantastic for all ages.
Bournemouth is fantastic for all ages. The sandy beach is a long stretch from Hentingsbury Head to Poole. There is a path to walk or cycle at the beach with restaurants dotted around which are within keeping with the relaxed natural environment and not too commercial which is a very clever balance. There are pretty paths and parks to walk through from beach to shop/living areas. There is plenty to do daytime and evening. I particularly like that my hotel has a swipe key so I can return/vacate 24hrs (obviously being respectful of quiet times).
The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on , and I am fussy about my beds!
The air con was lovely and desperately needed for those stuffy nights. This hotel is perfectly located right in the city centre . There’s a beautiful park just below the hotel where you can walk all the way to Bournemouth Pier.
The beach is 10 minutes walk and all the restaurants and bars are 3 minutes walk from the hotel. We are definitely looking to book again in August.
Although the bathroom was infested with mould on the windowsill and around the tap and had a nasty mouldy characteristic smell. the shower was great and powerful and pleasant to use.
The hotel was within walking reach to a small beach, Boscombe, and to a few shops on the main road.
There is also a nice little and beautiful garden on the route to the beach.
There is bus stop within walking reach to get buses to Bournemouth coast and to Pool.
Really nice hotel, with a spacious, quiet and spotlessly clean room. I've stayed in many hotels in Bournemouth, and this place is a thousand times better than what you get for the same price in the main town. Great location, with a pretty beach and a lovely 30-min walk to Bournemouth along the seafront, and buses every 5 minutes. The management were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay there again.
The room was clean & tidy & well lit with natural light, it had opening windows to allow natural airflow. The accommodation was in a great location close to the main square & the beach.
The owner was very friendly, carried my luggage up the stairs & was very helpful with suggestions on what to do in the area. I would highly recommend the "Newark" when staying in "Bournemouth".
It was an interesting place to stay with quite an unusual decor. The hotel was well maintained and all area spotlessly clean. The room was comfortable , but the shower room was a little cosy. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We could easily walk to restaurants and into Bournemouth town.
The Hotel is sited in one of the best locations for Bournemouth. It's just a short walk to the beach (and away from the crowded parts); as well as this it's not too far to walk to the town centre. The En-suite room was good, and the staff friendly. As well as this it's good value for money!
amazing room and cleaning and comfortable room with nice space of the room, the staff friendly and nice the hotel location is close with everything in Bournemouth beach and city center, if i come back again to Bournemouth for sure i will be stay in this hotel really amazin
good location, they have a nice lounge with entertainment, its proper value for money, especially when you only need the room to sleep in. its the first time ive seen a clean kettle in a hotel. the bathroom floor could be improved but its overall a great stay
Applewood Hotel is close to Bournemouth town centre (10 minutes walk). The single room was small but had everything I needed including a little desk. Ensuite was compact but vlean and functional. Check in staff were efficient rather than friendly.
Clean,comfortable bkd 2 rooms . Excellent breakfast
used Swim pool, sauna, Steam room & showers.
Walk along side road straight across to steep steps down to beach or take left at top and walk down West Cliffe slope to Bournemouth Square/wheel.
The hotel was very close to Bournemouth city centre. It has a swimming pool and a bar downstairs to get some snacks and a beer 🍺 in the evening. The room was comfortable and they also allow pets. We had our cat with us for £10 per night.
Pool Large TV in bedroom with good reception (not always easy in Bournemouth). Good breakfast. Good position walking distance from beach Nd town centre. I have been to Bournemouth many times and look forward to returning to this hotel
Absolutely everything Debbie was a lovely host and so accommodating. Our room was just perfect. Spotlessly clean couldn't fault a thing. The best hotel we have stayed in all the times we have come to Bournemouth.
Really spacious room and comfy bed. Staff were helpful. Location was good but a car was needed to get into Bournemouth. It seems that all the hotels are situated outside the town centre.
Dog friendly..so if travelling with your best friend a good hotel to have in Bournemouth. Comfortable with tea and coffee facilities. Close to the seafront and the centre of Bournemouth.
Ideal for a weekend break. Metres from the beach and all amenities. Room has all the extras you need/want (fridge, kettle etc.). Will use this hotel if/when I ever return to Bournemouth.
