Friendly staff and a great breakfast. They were very helpful in changing us to a new room when we found a broken bed in one of the outside rooms. The new new room inside the actual hotel was wonderful. The best nights sleep in years.

There is a good range of eateries. The architecture is interesting and it has a history. Good parking in the town itself at reasonable prices. In addition to eateries, there is a Co-op with friendly and helpful staff. All of these were within a short walk: downhill and uphill!

We would recommend Woodmead to anyone who wants to enjoy that area of the country. And very nice welcome at Modbury Inn which is in walking distance. The young could learn to surf and paddle board at local beaches. Bigbury on Sea and Hope Cove

Modbury is a beautiful village which has most things you would need including some lovely eating places. There is a co-op which has most of the things you need. The village is picturesque ad not to far from Kingsbridge which is the nearest big town. The beaches are wonderful and plentiful but not always accessible for people with walking difficulties.

Modbury - a small market town.

Modbury - a small market town. The Exeter Inn provides a pub menu with good portion servings, home made. Due to Coronavirus it's best to check which dates/evenings a full menu might not be available. Parking in Modbury mainly in car parks. Strongly recommend the 'Ringo' app is on your phone - makes payment very simple and is the payment of choice in most carparks in Devon tourist areas.

All of the rooms are at ground level, making access for anyone quite easy. The lounge was bright and welcoming, with a beautiful view over the friendly and peaceful garden. Our room had an en-suite shower room, smart TV and tea and coffee making facilites. A welcome, and unexpected, addition was a quantity of bottled mineral water. The double bed was very comfortable, and our night's sleep was aided by very efficient 'black out' curtains.
