Great shops and a lovely prom. when the weather is nice!
Close enough to Lake District and Blackpool to use as a base.

Some of it has been regenerated but it still needs a lot of money investing to bring it up to scratch.
There are very few places to eat at night.
Pubs and bars are run down.
Hopefully the Eden Project will inject new life into it.

Morecambe is in poor shape.
Morecambe is in poor shape. Boarded up and derelict buildings abound. Much of it has the feel of rougher areas of Manchester rather than a coastal resort almost in the Lake District. It also seems too spread out. Instead of the main things being centred around one area, they seem to be dotted about here and there, in a strange, disjoint way.

Quiet and relaxing place to visit, the promenade is very clean and it's brilliant for building sandcastles and playing on the beach. Less touristy than Blackpool.
Can eat chippy on the promenade watching the sunset.
The breakfast was exceptional - porridge , muesli, yoghurts, fruit. Plus a massive cooked "full English". Fresh flowers in the room and bathroom each day! Binoculars to help see the birds in the bay. As well as tea and coffee facilities in the room (+ biscuits, crisps and sweets) there was a cold water machine in the entrance, with cups and jugs to take up to the room if required. As well as help with porterage of luggage, a lovely mug of tea/coffee and a cake was brought to the room within a couple of minutes of arriving.
Nice view, quiet location, very clean and comfortable room. The food served in the hotel restaurant was excellent. The self check in/out is very convenient and any questions I had were quickly answered online ( via Booking.com ). We were in Morecambe for an evening event and had brought a dog with us ( I have a camera so that I can see he’s behaving via my phone ) so needed somewhere that could accommodate him. We left him in the room whilst we ate, but there are tables outside that I guess he could have sat with us at.
We didn't spend much time in the hotel as we were visiting family, the room was a nice size with a view over Morecambe Bay, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. The hotel doesn't have parking but there was no problems parking on the prom and there is a covered area for you to pull your car into in case it's raining when you want to pack your car. I've stayed at similarly priced hotels on Morecambe Prom and I'd recommend The Strathmore over them
I dont know where to start, excellent property it had everything in the kitchen you could ever possibly need, lovely dining area and courtyard which you can also dine. Large lounge with log burner, although we didn't need that.
Large bedroom with huge kingsize bed. A second bedroom with single bed. Bathroom had everything you needed and a lovely shower. Perfect all round and excellent value. This was cheaper than most of the hotels in morecambe
The room was a little dated but clean and well appointed and good for the rate. Breakfast was a hot and cold buffet served in a dining room with a view of Morecambe Bay. Parking on the street is free. It is located within walking distance of the Platform venue. Also convienient for the Lancashire coastal walk.
This is an iconic hotel. Those who have not watched the tide come and go should surely visit. We had lovely room overlooking the Bay. Its a wonderful art deco hotel and deserves much better ratings. The view from the dining room is sensational. Worth going to Morecambe just to stay at the Hotel.
Caravan was clean and tidy with all the things you need like bedding, hand wash, washing up liquid, toilet roll etc. Nice small site, kids enjoyed it. Good communication from owner of caravan, will definitely use again if heading to Morecambe.
Very clean and Modern looking, Right by the seafront, Subway, Burger King and Shops.
The Royal Hotel who runs these rooms is just opposite for food and drinks and entertainment.
These rooms are more modern than the ones in the Hotel.
friendly welcoming great food i would highly recommend this hotel this was my 2nd or third visit always stay or go for a drink entertainment fantastic staff brilliant best place in Morecambe a real local place handy for town
Lovely hotel overlooking Morecambe bay. Recently renovated. They also have facilities to store bikes. Iron, hairdryer, fan all in the room. Tea and coffee in the room. Car park with cctv attached to the hotel.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is not your usual hotel buffet breakfast and is a perfect simple A la carte menu with lovely produce - also some of the rooms are dog friendly :)
Excellent location; comfortable room; good value-for-money; good hotel bar with an outstanding view from the front terrace, overlooking the beach and sea on Morecambe's promenade.
Superb room with a breathtaking view over Morecambe bay and the Lake District in the background. Charming and attentive hosts and marvelous breakfast. Brilliant stay all round.
Excellent location and easy parking either using the hotel or the car park opposite. Friendly and helpful reception staff.
Room was very clean, tidy with a comfortable bed.
